The instructor will also provide a brief overview of the Canadian Sport Massage Therapists Association (CSMTA). This course is designed to assist in the preparation for the written and practical examinations for Sport Massage Therapist Certification. Excellent Learning Environment: 1) This workshop is highly practical in nature with an ongoing encouragement to change partners so that each participant has an opportunity to practice on a wide variety of body types. 2) There will be dozens of demonstrations with each area of the body region broken down into very manageable components. One of the advantages of Sport Massage is that so much is done through clothing, so it is easier to provide a shorter demonstration, then have the participants practice them, and then switch around and receive the techniques from their partner. 3) There will be some lecture and power point presentation to provide the theoretical portion of the workshop. 4) All participants will receive a comprehensive printed manual that will reduce the need for notetaking during the course.

He holds a Master’s Degree in Science from UofA, a massage therapy diploma & certifications in: advanced cupping therapy, national sports coaching (NCCP), Reiki Master/Teacher and Professional FitnessTrainer. Herb has worked on the medical teams at Canadian Olympic Track&Field Trials(2012), Canadian National Swim Finals(2012), World Cup Women’s Fastpitch Championships(2016) and Canada Cup(2017); where he introduced the benefits of therapeutic cupping to many world-class athletes. Herb has been a guest speaker at national conferences in Canada and the U.S. and currently teaches therapeutic courses in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba and is based in Calgary, AB.

Specific Compensation Reprogramming Course Description: Specific Compensation Reprogramming (SCR) is an innovative musculoskeletal technique that uses a combination of assisted stretches and specific muscle activation exercises to get muscles back to their optimal resting length and tone. This 2 day (16 hours) course will teach therapists how to properly assess compensation patterns and how to efficiently address and reverse their effects through the use of stretching and strengthening exercises. Participants will receive a copy of the course manual as well as a number of therapy bands that they will be using throughout the duration of the course.

About 3 Leaf:
3 Leaf is a wellness centre in west Edmonton that specializes in massage therapy. We have 5 beautiful treatment rooms, an infrared sauna, and a retail space showcasing various local and Canadian products. Not only do we provide a calm and relaxing space to work, but we also provide you with full time receptionists who help take care of your clients before and after their session. This includes greeting them when they come in, having them fill out the proper paperwork upon their first visit, processing payments, and scheduling appointments. And another added bonus of full time reception…they do your laundry!
Earnings are based on a 60/40 commission split, plus tips.
Job Summary:
As a massage therapist at 3 Leaf Wellness Centre, you must be comfortable working with a deeper pressure, but also able to include relaxation elements into your session. Most of our clientele are seeking a blend of both therapeutic and relaxation massage, and it is our goal to provide a customized treatment that best fits each individual’s needs and preferences. You are comfortable providing sessions for 30 minutes, 40 minutes, 60 minutes and 90 minutes. Each therapist is able to fit in a maximum of 4 60 minute appointments in a shift (with a range from 3-5 sessions with other service lengths included).

Registered Massage Therapist
Our busy, well established Physiotherapy clinic is looking for a registered massage therapist to join our team.
We offer an independent contractor position with a competitive percentage split on a per client basis, paid monthly. Position would involve approximately 20 hours per week including alternating mornings and evenings Monday through Thursday, and Saturdays.
Wide scope of experience would be an asset including, but not limited to, sports, MVA, pre-natal, deep tissue, chronic/acute conditions.
Must provide certificate of insurance, valid membership with an association (eg. RMTA, MTAA), as well as pertinent licensing through the City of Edmonton.
Laundry services are provided on site. Reception staff is provided to book appointments and receive payments. Massage Therapist would be responsible for general cleaning and prepping of massage room in between clients. We do offer direct billing for clients to most of the major insurance companies.
New grads as well as established massage therapists are welcome to apply.
