I'm a UofT student living in this resident for 4 month. I can say nothing but TERRIBLE. I wanted to move out but they force me to live in there for the whole year cause of the agreement. I left anyways cause it is so terrible and still paying the rent for it for the rest of the year. It is fine for me, I'll just treat this money as a donation for medical fees for the office ladies' kids' medical fees.

Couldn't even last a month there. Worst experience of my life. No work space in your room, no privacy, and was overpriced for what you're paying. Caf and meal plan was awful. No where to socialize other than the common room because the rooms are way to small to have a few people over. The staff was not very nice and seemed very unhappy to be there. Overall I would only suggest this place if you literally have no where else to live.

I was George Brown Student and also a resident at Primrose Student residence. What I liked about my stay at Primrose residence was the location/distance to my campus (St.James ). My school schedule was super crazy – had classes at 8am and also at 3pm to 6pm, group meetings until 9pm; having the residence in walking distances saved me time and the hassle to commute home(Richmond Hill) every day.
Meal plan was included in the residence fees but it was only breakfast and dinner during the weekdays, which was a good thing because I spent my lunch time on campus and weekend I went home. I enjoyed the cultural nights which was once a month. It’s a buffet style so you have choices for your meal.
Overall the meal plan was good.
I was in a traditional room where you would have a roommate in an open concept style room. I have never shared my room in my life until I moved into the residence and knew I was getting Traditional room because this is what I signed up for. At the beginning it was a little weird but then as days when by I got used to having a roommate and she was an amazing roommate. We made a schedule when and who will be cleaning (vacuuming) since there were on housekeeping. At the end everything worked out well for me and had a great time.

I was an international student studying at University of Toronto and living at Primrose Student Residence for a year. I found the location to be great; mostly I walked to Uni and walked back. Except during the cold winter morning I took the streetcar, which was steps away from the residence.

Yes the residence is within the hotel but it is operated separately. There were Dons who helped/assisted us when needed. The Don I got was understanding and very knowledgeable.

Breakfast and dinner (weekdays only) were included in my residence fees, which was a good thing because I didn’t have time to make my meals during the week. I am not going to lie there were a couple of times where I didn’t really like the food (not sea food person), but 80% of the time it was good. I know it is not easy to satisfy 250 plus individuals especially when they are students.

Overall, I had a good time and met a lot people there. Mostly, enjoyed the city since it as my first to Toronto.

I would have to disagree with some of the reviews on here. I just finished my year at the Primrose and yes it wasn't perfect but i had an awesome first year experience. Sucked that i wasn't on campus but i got through it quick since there was an attempt at residence life. As for the internet, i paid the extra fee for the upgrade package and i had no complaints aside from the couple of times it went down, which happened during snow storms. The food was okay, some days were fantastic and others made me resort to pasta and salad, whatever---get over it! I had a couple issues with my room but they were fixed within reasonable time frame.

This place is the absolute worst place to live as a student. The staff made it very hard to feel comfortable and at home. I personally felt targeted. They always looked at me with suspicion, they were very rude, and maybe racist. They would watch me walk ALL the way into the elevator from the entrance like im not going to steal your fern, or light a big fat joint in your hallway thanks. They were overly critical of my guests, and even threatened to kick one of my guests out when they were just making conversation. Obviously they would explain this away by blaming it on my guest but no they were just power hungry and didn't like me.
