Did you know that it's both World Breastfeeding week and Babywearing Week? So much goodness, and so many baby snuggles in one week!
If you are parenting in the Ottawa area and would like to stop in at the Ottawa Birth and Wellness Centre for the Parent drop in, Erin from the Bringing Baby Home class will be there.

Are you pregnant and looking for a midwife in Ottawa?
Ottawa South Midwives currently has openings for women with due dates in December to April!
We are registered health care providers who specialize in low risk pregnancy, birth and postpartum care. Midwifery care is free for residents of Ontario with and without OHIP, and we are happy to accommodate women who are further along in pregnancy.
We deliver babies at the Civic Hospital and Ottawa Birth and Wellness Centre, and we offer home birth. We also offer at least three home visits in the first week after your baby is born - a great way to start off your relationship with your baby!

We hope everyone is safe this weekend. If anyone has milk in a freezer and is worried about it thawing, we have access to a large freezer with lots of space. PM if you need storage. Many babies must be out enjoying this beautiful weather!
Our Infant Massage class has 4 babies when we could have up to 10! We would like to gift one of these spots. If you know a pre-crawler who would like to come for the next 4 Thursdays 11:15-12:15pm. Did you know that baby walkers were voluntarily removed from the market by manufacturers before the actual ban came in Canada in 2014? Canada is the first country to ban baby walkers and there is risk of a $100,000 for anyone who imports, sells or buys a baby walker.

We talk about the benefits, and importance of carrying babies in our Bringing Baby Home class! When we carry our children, we speak to them more and engage them in our interactions because they are at our own height, rather than being at the level of our knees.
"There was significantly more parent speech, infant vocalizations, dyadic conversations, and infant‐initiated speech in backpacks, as well as more head motion consistent with visual scanning by infants."
