The hotel was beautiful, clean and most of the staff were helpful. They have a good restaurant, my only wish is that it had a wider variety for vegetarians. A tip though, the front desk has a smaller version of the actual menu, go to the restaurant to get a copy of the full menu to order from. Even their breakfasts are delicious. However the town around them has a small selection of restaurants and there are pizza places that will deliver to the hotel from Duncan. The room was very tidy and I loved the view, I will probably come back only probably not in the winter. We were treated to hearing Sea lions mating and we came smack dab in the middle of their three week season, but it makes for good pictures. They have a nice pool and hot tub, not very big but if the doors are open you can smell the ocean. The pool temperature is pleasantly warm and feels nice to swim in before bed. You will not be disappointed staying here.
We stayed there the weekend of our wedding the room was very nice. And it was nice to have dinner next door
Great location. Nice pool and hot tub. Rooms are well kept and staff very friendly. Would definitely return.
Had a great thanksgiving there. Set in quaint Cowichan Bay. This hotel is nestled in a picturesque cove. The room view was amazing. Full kitchen allowed us to cook thanksgiving dinner. The beds were so comfortable. I even brought my dog. Wonderful experience
This accommodation is in a beautiful location in a charming village in rural Vancouver Island. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the rooms are bright and clean with views of the Cowichan Bay Marina. Not all rooms have outdoor access - only the ground floor rooms. Some rooms overlook the roof of the indoor swimming pool as well as the Marina. It is a few steps to the local pub and some cute local shops. There is a small gravel beach on the property also. There is a restaurant on the top floor which serves nice breakfasts.
Beautiful view and very quiet, but hotel could do with a little updating - finishings are outdated. Overall comfy and quiet.
We now have the Cow Cafe operating the restaurant for breakfast, mmm mmm good
Desk manager made a comment about my four year old son being overweight, in front of our four year old son. Welcome to Oceanview Suites. Let us body shame your kids. My family who visits us from the US twice yearly will never stay there again. Way to make a already mediocre hotel lose two grand a year.
Excellent views of Cowichan Bay and Mt. Tzouhalem! Room was spacious with nice furniture and a full kitchen. Older appliances, but they still do the job. Enjoyed the pool, hot tub, and workout room as well.
The views from our room are amazing. We have stayed here 3 times and all 3 times we have to beg for toilet paper and towels. But the pool and hot tub are nice after a long day. For the price you pay they need to spend more time fixing up the place. It is run down toilets are not attached to the floor no hot water in the showers. In all honesty I would rather sleep in my car and bathe in the river.
