It's been a few years since my family and I ate at the restaurant in the hotel and I figured I might as well circle back and post a review.
Prior to having children we had eaten at the restaurant more than few times and enjoyed the food, ambiance, and the view. However, after getting dressed up (for a lunch) with our child we were shocked to be turned away at the door.
Definitely don't come to this place if you have children.response / report this review -

Great great hotel. Even locals go to this hotel. Every detail is on point. Room, service and food are all great. The outdoor hot pools are so enjoyable even in a rain storm. Overall highly recommend.

We went to the spa on a beautiful sunny fall day. The spa staff was friendly and our massages we're relaxing. We loved the mineral pool. We were happy it wasn't too busy as it added to our enjoyment. We drank and ate on the deck. Our drinks were delicious and my yam tacos were perfect too. The whole experience was very expensive. If they offered a reasonable price for use of the pools only, I would go back in a heartbeat!

Service not the best. Servers don't help each other's tables at all. In fact, you can sit for ten minutes without being acknowledged. However, the views are amazing and the food is excellent. Best seafood chowder I've had since Nova Scotia. Bartender is always helpful and smiling.

I loved my stay here. Our view was beautiful (we had a boutique suite with partial ocean views), and the suite was large, comfortable, clean, and elegant. The mineral pools/steam room are a fantastic way to relax in the morning. My only complaint is that the gym is far smaller than I expected. While not in the heart of Victoria, the hotel is situated along a beautiful stretch of coastline and downtown is a quick drive away.

I was deciding on a hotel and Oak Bay had the best recent reviews. So I decided to Stay here for my birthday weekend! The staff are super helpful and they seemed genuinely happy (Its a dread when you get to a resort and they seem like they all hate their jobs.) It's a welcoming atmosphere! Loved the 1 bedroom suite. Nice and spacious. The outdoor heated pool has a view of the ocean. It couldnt get better than that. Oh and there's an outdoor bar! So i got to enjoy a delicious caesar with an amazing view. I also checked out The Snug and had mussels and clams and they were soooooooooo good. I would go back just to eat that again. Also ordered room service and it was amazing food which is surprising. Didn't have any negative experiences here!

Great out. Love their Tuesday movie nights includes dinner and popcorn and u can bring your glass of wine in with you. Intimate movie night get to meet the people around you. Fun - different night out.

Absolutely phenomenal hotel and staff. The spa was incredible (book reservations 2-3 early minimum in off season)! Beautiful spacious rooms. Huge double tub, practically unlimited hot water, sliding pass through to the main room so u can enjoy a movie or the view while soaking in the tub.
Then we get to pools and hot tubs. 1 hot tub sans bubbles for a more relaxing experience and 1 extra -hot tub with bubbles if u really want the heat. The mineral pool is heated and offers incredible views with pool side adult beverage service.

The hotel room was very nice quiet and comfortable. The food at the snug pub was very good. I loved the spa my hubby loved the steam room! The few tiny concerns that came up where delt with promptly. We felt like the staff was concerned about taking care of us. The area is beautiful to walk around and isn't far from downtown Victoria. I hope we get a chance to go back!
