If we could rate this guesthouse higher we would. It is simply stunning! The owners, who were there to greet us, were very kind and always available to answer questions or just to chat about the property. The room was our little oasis, beautifully appointed, and the view was amazing. Breakfast each morning was made with fresh, local ingredients by amazing chefs. If you are looking for a romantic getaway, or a wonderful location to host a retreat or even a wedding this is the spot! Highly recommend and we will definitely be back.

This farm is the antidote to all of the soulless hotel and conference room architecture that's out there. My partner and I organized a romantic event at Lightwater Cove. We couldn't be happier with how it went. We could have spent the full three days inside the main building alone. Every inch of it appears to have been designed with great care to showcase the amazing natural setting. Every room is beautifully appointed and bathed in light and views. Our caterer loved the high spec commercial kitchen. Our guests delighted in the dinners in the Great Hall that overlooks the orchard, ocean, and surrounding islands. We all enjoyed walking around the property and admiring the acres of seamless landscaping and meticulous stone work. We visited while some final work on the property was still being completed - something I was worried about beforehand but that actually worked out really well. We all felt a bit like we were watching the final brushstrokes being put on a masterpiece. Our friends are still talking about it. Thank you Greg and Monika. We will be back.

My wife and I had the pleasure of being one of the first guests at the new Lightwater Cove guesthouse on Salt Spring Island last weekend. We would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet, gorgeous island retreat. The building interior and landscaping were not quite finished, but everything was stunningly beautiful and first class. The materials and craftsmanship were incredible throughout the house. Custom everything: salvaged wood floors, windows, decks, cabinets, lighting, beds, and bathrooms. Almost everything was curved: rooms, hand-set retaining walls, gates, flower beds, stream, deck. The spa and indoor swimming pool were not finished yet, but the big, round meditation/meeting room downstairs was stunning. We strolled all over the property, from the private beach and dock to the rocky “point” up through the working farm from the 1800’s to the modern greenhouse and pond. The nearby “Woodshed” was the nicest “farm stand” we saw on the island, with fresh baked goods, frozen entrees, popsicles, meats, and soups — all with an honor payment system.

Our hosts were very gracious and showed us around the property. The chef was fantastic. Not only did she have baked goodies and fresh fruit ready every morning, and cook us our choice of savory (eggs, omelettes, etc.) or sweet (pancakes, french toast) breakfast, but she also told us the history of the property and suggested two great hikes on the island! There were coffee and tea makers available 24/7 along with a fridge full of juice and milk. We used the huge guest refrigerator and freezer to store some of the food we brought and the delicacies we bought from farms and stores around the island.

Overall, we could not have been happier with our stay at Lightwater Cove. It was obvious that it will be a spectacular venue for anyone lucky enough to stay at this guesthouse when the property is finished later this year, especially when their electric car charger and loaner vehicles arrive!

The Lightwater Cove Eco-Resort is an ultra modern beautiful facility with breathtaking morning and evening views of the gulf islands and the U.S. San Juan islands. The surrounding grounds make for inviting walks through the well landscaped property and secluded forests. The hospitality of the hosts and staff was very friendly and the morning breakfast first class, all in all
a wonderful experience.

I had the privilege of staying at Lightwater Cove recently, and I was impressed and in awe of how much meticulous detail and thought has gone into constructing this oceanside sanctuary.

I stayed in the Wheelhouse Suite and was greeted by the sun in the mornings, with the view of the ocean outside my window and the snowy mountains in the distance. I was given tours of the property and the rich in-depth history of the land that Greg and Monika have preserved and paid tribute to.

The architecture is stunning, luxurious and cosy all wrapped into one - truly an incredible experience. I look forward to visiting Salt Spring Island again, and enjoying all of the magic that Lightwater Cove has to offer.
