Sixth post in this weeks waste reduction series.
Number 6️⃣️ DONATE
We all have donated in some form or another at some point in our lives. There are many ways to donate. Since we are on the topic of waste reduction, donating our 'stuff' is the way to go. Not dumping it in the trash with no care. You can give to friends and family. Bring your items to a charity drop off center or local church in your neighbourhood.
Here are 5 reasons to donate your things:
✔️ Less trash in landfills ✔️ Helps those in need ✔️ Makes us feel good ✔️ Teaches generosity to our children ✔️ Tax deduction
Have you donated to anyone or a charity lately? Maybe it's time to give.
Fifth post in this weeks waste reduction series.
Number 5️⃣️ REPAIR
We have become a throw away society. Nowadays, when something breaks, we just go buy a new product. However, there are some products that when they break, it's not worth getting it fixed. The system has been created that way so we buy buy and buy more. It's really sad.
Please repair things if you can before buying something new. It will help in the reduction of waste!
Fourth post in this weeks waste reduction series.
Number 4️⃣️ RECYCLE
Recycling is important to both the natural environment and us. Most cities have a recycling program in place for us to take part in.
✅Recycling helps to reduce the pollution caused by waste. ✅Recycling requires much less energy, so it helps preserve natural resources. ✅Recycling minimizes carbon emissions. ✅Minimizes waste accumulation in landfills. ✅Conserves wildlife. (using recycled products minimizes the exploitation of natural resources like rivers, lakes, forests and wetlands, (natural habitats for wildlife.)

Second post in this weeks waste reduction series.
Number 2️⃣️ REUSE
We have become such a throw away society that we need to make a change in how we see things we buy, use and own.

How do we clean the grim off kitchen cabinets? Good question.
Wooden cabinets need a non-harsh solution. First, with dish washing liquid, wash the really dirty areas like the handles and around them. Then, with an oil soap solution, give the entire cupboard faces a light wipe down. Dry immediately with a microfiber cloth. Wipe in the direction of the grain.
Use an alkaline cleanser if you have laminate, or other non wood material cabinets. Or use a heavy-duty cleanser. Follow the directions and apply with a sponge. Let solution sit for a couple of minutes, then with the sponge, scrub where necessary. Rinse with a damp cloth and wipe dry.
🚩Never use acid based or powdered cleansers on cabinets. They will cause the material to rub off. Spot-clean when needed.
🏁You can use a small amount of furniture polish to bring back a little life if your cabinets are dull and heavily used.

We all know about the craze using vinegar to clean everything. Well, just because it's not a chemical, you still have to be careful with the surfaces you apply it to.
One surface it is best NOT to use it on, is hardwood floors. Since it is an acid, over time it can remove the finish and make the floor look dull. Instead, use a neutral ph balanced product. Using good ol' warm water will do the trick most of the time, along with regular maintenance.
