Murphy's law states that you collect all of your loved ones near and far and set yourselves up for a photo shoot, then you wait until Boxing Day for the coldest of cold weather to arrive. We have a saying in Calgary - you wait 5 minutes and the weather will change. My saying - get everyone together, make them run, jump and play and despite any cold outside a together experience is made and we have the photos to prove it. Playful, fun, together and connected. There is something about smallness that gets me each and every time. The newness of a puppy hits you in the gut and heartstrings and makes you smile without thinking, not least of which the forth and back swaying that happens without you even realizing it when you hold them. I grew up with Labradors and they are at the heart of what I know to be the most amazing dog. Since then I have had the fortunate chance to meet other dogs that I would just as quickly take into my home and this one was just like that. And her owner's dedication to raising a well trained dog - I mean lookthey ever smiled when asked! 😊

I have always thought of myself as a big dog person, until I didn't. These furry balls of love come in all sizes and make me realize my children are right - we need another dog!! Of course you can nibble on my fingers and cuddle in my lap! . This wee one is all sorts of wonderful and made my day tromping about strutting their stuff for the camera!

There is nothing more wonderful to me than being able to give back. For the last very many years, I have thrown myself into studying photography as much as I possibly can and have had the privilege of learning from some of the industry's best photographers. Being asked to come back and help support other students comes as high praise and makes me absolutely giddy with excitement! And so, from Lisa Tichane's Class "Capturing Joy" here is a little something to kick off the weekend to a great start. Today - at some point, take the time to throw your head back, shut your eyes and laugh. Hard.
