Nice spot to grab something before a hike. Great prices on rentals.

Very cheeky young guy renting out the boats at Barrier Lake today. Complained to a man he knew who walked by that it was so busy while in front of 9 customers waiting for him to pay us attention. Was slow to register us and when we would try to hand him back our waivers or the iPad after paying he wouldn't take them and made us set them down on the table in front of him like he was afraid to touch them? Our canoe was by the beach when we rented it so on our way back we pulled it back up on the beach assuming that was what they wanted and began to walk up to the rental trailer. The guy came down and stopped me and said "canoes gotta come up to the trailer"' to which I replied I'm sorry I'm pregnant I can't lift it and he said "well it's gotta come up one way or another". Shocked I looked at my friend who shook her head at him and said she would do it.. at least he was decent enough to help her after that although he pushed her the whole way up the hill. Canoe was overpriced especially for such a lack of service. I think your guy needs a lesson on customer service (and what not to say to a preggo). Much prefer the rental services in Banff even though it's busier.

Items are a bit pricey. Good coffee shop though.

We rented our snow shoes here for the day. They were good enough, but I should have inspected them before we left as some of the clips were missing. I had to improvise when we got down to the trails in peter lougheed park.

Rented a canoe for the day without any problems. The process was quick and easy and all you have to do after is drive down to the boat launch at Lower Kananaskis Lake and you're ready to go! The area you'll be canoeing in is a real treat and easy to handle for anyone with minimal or no experience in a canoe.
