Fave place to see some good music! I have had many amazing nights out here. Drinks aren't overpriced either which is always a +

lol "unpretentious". Was there last night for some drinks and they had the front door open (it was -3 C). We asked one of the bouncers if we could close the door since the draft was pretty chilly and they said it was fine. After a few minutes we noticed the door was propped open again so we closed it. Then one of the bartenders started giving us attitude saying "I've opened this door 3 times, I have patrons who are boiling hot. You guys should just move somewhere else if you're cold". We told him the bouncers said it was fine and that they should get on the same page. The guy gave us more attitude but the door stayed closed. It seemed like such a weird hill for him to die on. When we left, we didn't tip because of his behaviour and I'm glad we didn't as he continued giving us attitude after we left. He said "Don't let the door hit you on the way out!".

Best place for a after party chill out session. They also promote local bands so that's very awesome of them. The people serving you are also amazing to talk to. Best tap and bottled beer available as well.

Good aura and good services. The pool table is great. You can also order the A&W from a window inside this bar which is very convenient and cool. Live music is fantastic. Highly recommend this place!

This is a great place to see live music. There is a lot of history here and you get to see some up and coming bands.

Normally very crowded for shows that are 70%+ filled The standing area/dance floor has always seemed to be hindered by the over-sized seating area. The historical significance and first-rate performers The Horseshoe draws does somewhat make up for its short-comings.

The Horseshoe is such a big part of the Toronto music scene and it's history that the city should make it an official historical place. Truly Legendary! It also has an amazing sound system.

After a great evening out we decided to end the night by checking out what bands were playing at the Horseshoe. We got a drink each and I started a tab anticipating we would stay till close. After I finished my first drink I went to the bar to get another one. There were 2 male bartenders, one an older man with a long beard kept ignoring me while he served everyone around me. I must've stood there for at least 20 minutes with no service. Then I moved to a different part of the bar hoping I'd get served, but same result. Needless to say I wasn't very happy by this time. I paid and left. The arrogance of the bartenders is through the roof! I am hoping this is a one off incident, but after this I'll think twice before I go there again!

There's a reason it's called the 'legendary Horseshoe Tavern'! It's amazing, the place has so much history and character. Totally worth catching a show here or just having a beer or five. Service can be slow, but it almost adds to the character of the place!

Favorite concert venue in the city. Sound is great. Sight lines are great. And the crowd is always full of people who want to have a great night out.

I've only been here for band events, so I can't attest to what it's like on a regular evening, but the setup for music is great. Staff and security both on the door and inside are friendly and accessible. They keep it tight in terms of set times for bands. The regulars are generally easygoing and respectful, if sometimes rambunctious, depending on who's playing. All in all, a great place to catch a local show.

Saw one of my favourite bands -- The Pack AD. Show was amazing, but even with my super nice concert-grade earplugs it was still a bit too loud. I can't imagine how bad it would have been without earplugs. I forgot how stupidly loud some clubs are, for no reason. It usually makes the show sound worse if it's too loud, because you can't hear half the band.
Fairly cool place, I liked the vibe, but their sound guy needs a lesson in volume.
