In 2015 my husband and I built our little house and went to Restore on on a few occasions to buy things. Since then I've been back once or twice and have been disappointing in their inflated "industry standard" pricing. Many things now are over priced. I love the idea of sourcing left over supplies but when the cost is comparable to new "on sale" it's a bummer. Rethink your pricing and customers may come back. A good cause but overpriced.

I went a couple of times to drop off donations and was turned away. Both times I was told that they couldn't accept donations due to staff shortage. I saw only one other customer in the store.

I love supporting this effort, because they are recycling things that would otherwise be thrown away. Allan does a great job of getting the message out and letting people know about the store. He's very friendly. Some of the items are priced wrong and too high, but other than that, this is a great cause and it helps many people.

I have stopped going to this location. The prices are much too high compared to all other ReStore locations I've visited and I just end up getting upset. Not because of how it affects me but because I know that people have tried to respectfully encourage this location to rethink its pricing but they are stubbornly not listening. People are not asking for freebees. They want to see the same discounts that work well at other locations. The kind of discounts that make people want to make a special trip to get their supplies from ReStore. The kind of pricing that makes people buy things because they realize they CAN afford to start their reno project now. But this location doesn't seem to respect what other popular and extremely successful ReStore locations in the lower mainland do. I find the attitude is different here. There are definitely nice people volunteering but some of the main people seem quite dismissive or abrupt. Other locations are very casual and kind and helpful. I make special trips to the two Burnaby stores instead even though they are 45 minutes away.

Update below please read

Well let me say this is the first restore I hate. I was so excited when someone told me about a new habitat store in Abbotsford. When I walked in I was in awe at the size of this store. Also it was so organized and clean. But when I looked at the prices I was shocked. They had full retail prices on used and returned items that were donated to them. No wonder the store is clean and tidy no one is buying anything. I think they forgot they are a thrift store.

Used Dyson v6 299
Eco cordless blower missing parts 189
Ryobi 40v grass trimmer (put together with different parts) 199
Wife even complained a side table 200
She goes that's more than retail.

Owner has sad excuse. Yes it charity and I'm willing to buy the item without warranty and used but at a good discount. Almost all items donated are return items to the retail store or items that they couldn't sell so they got rid of it. So the items don't have manufacturer warranty. Therefore if I'm only saving 10% to 25% without warranty on an used item and no return policy them I'm better off shopping at the retail store even if the money spent here goes to charity. i would also like to add I'm a regular shopper at the Vancouver stores and donate as well. I have also been to stores in Calgary, Kelowna, Bellingham and Vernon. None of they have crazy high prices.

Unfortunately this place seems to be falling into the same rut so many bargain warehouse places do,
An overabundance of materials that aren't priced to move ,there are some good deals but they really need to get better at liquidating their stock

I have gone into the habitat store numerpus times. I find generally their prices are too much, sometimes as much as the local home depot and the staff very unaccomodating. Tried to buy some moldings for little projects and now their new thing is they won't cut 16 ft pieces. This is all so ridiculous. Their justification is the worker's comp. So then set up a little sawhorse and a hand saw and let us do it ourselves!! Like in home depot. They forget this stuff is donated.

Habitat is a great organization but in comparison to its sister stores, I feel this location falls behind. Almost everything is new, and most often quite over priced.. It's too bad.

Great store , If you see something make sure you get it . I could be gone.
They should remember ,that all Items are given to them ,so watch your prices.
If you want a faster turn around ,refresh your prices .
Last note make sure you have your Own trucks for Deliveries. Your charges for delivery are reasonable, but make the Effort to be On Time when you stated.
Other than that keep up the good work all you folks do.
