A huge thank you to Bluejay Irrigation for working with students at the Greenhouse Academy last week! Students had a unique opportunity working alongside and learning all about such an amazing company. A great introduction to potential job opportunities and building relationships with one of London's great employers. Thank you Bluejay!

All of us at the Greenhouse Academy want to thank everyone who came out in support of the pop-up sale event. It was a fun day for everyone involved and would not have been possible without our wonderful student volunteers, the fantastic vendors, and the delicious ice cream provided by Roli Poli Hand-Rolled Ice Cream. Bringing volunteers, so many local businesses, and folks from the community into the GHA facility really started to solidify this space as a community-connected hub. We look forward to growing more connections and the impact we can have on our youth with everyone involved.

Come out to the Greenhouse Academy for our first ever pop-up sale! We've been working hard with Thames Valley District School Board students all year to produce our stock. We'll have trees, wildflowers, other perennials, vegetables, and herbs for sale, as well as some fun, interactive activities for kids and adults of all ages!
We won't only have our stock available as we've partnered with these great businesses: Parkway Garden Centre Baseline Nurseries & Garden Centre Cromarty Gardens Wild Comfort Body Care Life of Leisure Surf + Social Club Cathy's Crawly Composters Beautiful Edibles by Spencer Creek and more to come!
Bring the family for father's day and have a rolled ice cream from the Roli Poli - Hand Rolled Ice Cream food truck while you shop and explore our 60,000 square foot greenhouse and garden facility.
Let's make this community hub thrive and have fun doing it! See you Father's day weekend!

Check out our first student led field trip by Summers’ Corners Public School. Grade 8 students were responsible for planning, coordinating and executing an entire field trip for grade 1 students. We’re so proud to see such a display of teamwork, leadership, and creativity from this amazing group. Thanks so much Summers’ Corners!

3 weeks ago students set a goal of creating an outdoor learning space and community vegetable garden. They learned the skills, put in the work, and together, created something amazing. We’re now ready to start growing for the community!

During Summers Corners Public School’s intensive week, they spent 4 out of a possible 5 days with us. During this time, 60 students each day worked on developing horticultural, time management, and team building skills. Each student also worked on how to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of our greenhouse space, including other ways in which our facility could be used as a community hub.
Back at school, Summers Corners is working on creating sustainable development plans for Barbuda, a country that was devastated by hurricanes recently. We asked if they could come up with different ways the facility could be used, as a way to have them brainstorm ideas for their projects.
They also worked with Junior Achievement on sales and marketing and developing a product, as well as working with Holly Painter Poetry on approaching different ways of using their creativity.
It was a great week, and we are very excited to have Summers Corners back in the spring!

Clarke Road Secondary school. They spent every day of the week with us! We wanted to share some statistics that were gathered throughout the week! Skills development! 320 hours developing horticultural skills 320 hours developing skills in Facility Services 240 hours skills in Business Development 200 hours planting.
125 lunches served. planted 1500 trees !

What a great Fall Term the @GreenhouseAcademy has had! I'm sure the Winter Term students will have a great time, too!
