New Finnish star Teuvo Teravainen of Chicago credits #floorball for skill development:
“Sometimes I felt like the puck was more times in the air than on the ice, chip it out, chip it in, things like that,” he said. He dominated the 2014 world junior championship with 15 points in seven games for a gold-medal Finland team, and a little unusually, played both hockey and floorball — basically ball hockey, big in Finland — until he was 14. His mom played it, too. Even in a media setting Teravainen lights up a little talking about what he loved about the game.
“Just to score,” he said. “It’s really similar to hockey, no skates, just can do a lot of things with the ball. It’s a really fast game, and you have to make really quick decisions out there, and the ball is really light, so I think it was fun. I think I learned a lot of things from floorball for hockey, like it helped with stickhandling, maybe, getting better at that.”

Hey Everyone,
Just a reminder that Canada Cup is just a few days away!! We will once again have a booth set up at the Mattamy Athletic Center (Old Maple Leaf Gardens) to help all contestants with all their Floorball needs during this extravagant event! As such our office will be closed from tomorrow, Thursday May 14th until Thursday May 21st. So if you need anything now - or this weekend at the tournament ;) - is the time to get it! How it works - you will have up until half an hour after the start of the game to post here on facebook what you think the final score of the game will be. Its U19 World Championship Time! Which means we will be doing our regular guess the score for all Floorball Canada matches! If you guess the correct score then you will have earned yourself an awesome prize! The schedule for Team Canada is as follows:
Wednesday April 29 - 12:15 PM EST v Denmark Thursday April 30 - 9:30 AM EST v Hungary Friday May 1 - 9:30 AM EST v USA
