Grand Old Style Hotel. The service was good. Rooms were clean. It is easy getting disoriented looking for your room. We stayed two nights. Close to the Bow Falls and other attractions in Banff.

Beautiful hotel, but do *not* make the mistake of using the President's Club line at the check in desk - this gives you "premium access" to only two desks, whereas the normal line has access to about ten desks. I waited in the President's Club line - looking like an idiot - for an age while about 12-15 people went passed me by using the normal line. I was furious by the time someone finally waved me over to their desk. By this time the normal line was completely empty, and the President's Club line had about eight people in it looking at each other wondering what the point of that line is.

Otherwise, our stay here was fantastic.

Excellent, beautiful rooms, the shower was amazing. We ended up, upgrading which was completely worth it. The service was the best service in a hotel I have ever experienced. I did not want to leave. The spa is great too and a little cheaper if you go after 4 or 8 I believe.

I didn't stay here, I camped, but this hotel is stunning. You must walk through it. And it's close to the Bow Falls.

Banff is a beautiful place. The service for the price at the Fairmont is not worth it. The conference centre is nice, otherwise wouldn't recommend staying here.

Simply the worst fairmont in the country. The Castello's restaurant food was extremely salty and took over 45 minutes to come out - COLD! After the food came the bill which we had to get up and get ourselves after waiting nearly half and hour.

The rooms were cold, small, and the washroom kept making a drainage sound every 2 minutes disturbing our rest. We transferred back to the palliser in Calgary at 2 in the morning and had to pick up fast food because of our terrible dinner. The manager Emma didn't seem to want to do much but at least she was able to complete that transfer back to the palliser in Calgary.

The Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel is a unique experience in Banff. The hotel is situated in an ideal location, with picturesque scenery and easy walking access to town and hiking attractions. The hotel offers tours of the historic hotel that describe some of the unique aspects of the hotel as well as the price tag. Rooms are quite modern, with comfortable beds and breathtaking views. The hotel is quite large and the mezzanine level puts you in mind of Hogwart's castle with the spiral stone staircase, large banquet room and medieval suits of armor. Terraces offer superb views of the surrounding mountains and Bow Falls, the Bow River Trail, and Spray River Trail are within quick hiking distance. The nightly room rate, which varies depending on the season, is pretty high, but given the resort nature of the hotel and surrounding area, the price is understandable. The hotel offers valet parking as well as self-parking. Shops and restaurants in the hotel are typical of what you would expect of a 5-star resort hotel as well as the prices of food and merchandise.
