I’ve always wanted to purchase a furniture from here. Recently we ordered a 4K bed after tax. Paid half in deposit, and was told maximum waiting period 4 weeks.
1.5 months later we followed up asking when can we expect the bed, was told that they were so busy dealing with mis-shipped part that they forgot to tell us about it. I reluctantly told them we sold our 2 double beds and was waiting for this bed. And asked for some kind of discount to compensate. I was told I can cancel the order if I could not wait any longer.
So with a sad heart I did cancel , I can’t say I was happy with the whole experience, but it’s COVID time, everyone has an excuse. I hope one day I’ll see something in the shop that I love so much I’ll buy it on the spot, instead of waiting for shipping. Sorry for 2 stars. Hope next time can be 5 stars.
Amazing store……
Love everything in the store!!
Terrible business, doesn’t return phone calls or doesn’t listen to customers requests. They don’t help with product part requests or only provide minimal assistance with product repairs. When they do help, they get it wrong and blame the customer.
Great selection, great service! It is nice to have such a genuine and honest boutique in the heart of Vancouver! Definitely recommend to anyone looking for unique and high quality furniture
Rory my sales professional was great, I ordered a sofa and sofa chair. He talked me through the steps I needed, to choose the fabric, colour and strength of foam I wanted for my order. Its been 1 year now and it still feels and looks beautiful! I love it, and all my friends love it. Rory and FULLHOUSE Modern are the best! I would recommend them to friends and family.
Let me start by saying, Fullhouse sells many beautiful products. But the fact of the matter is that the customer 'service' is so unbelievably poor, there is no question that you would be wise to avoid Fullhouse. In particular, the owner Jennifer is the most rude and frankly offensive person I could imagine. When there was some minor damage to my purchase that was noticed less than 5 minutes after pickup, she claimed that she 'couldn't verify where the damage occurred'. This was after her equally incompetent, rude, and arrogant sales person Stephen vocalized that he knew about the damage to the product before it left she showroom. He of course changed his story and they both spoke to me in a rude and condescending way. This culminated in her telling me that she 'deals with the likes of you ever other month'. Wow. I ended up speaking directly to the distributor of my product (Gus* - a great company!) and they ended up helping me out directly. Overall, please do yourself a favor and shop elsewhere. People who treat customers like this deserve to fail and I hope to see a going out of business sale in the window of the store soon.
EDIT: In response to the reply from the owner - I wanted to just take a moment to confirm to any readers, that this review is 100% honest and was filed with the better business bureau. This is on record with them and you are welcome to call. I believe this type of a reply from the owner only continues to reinforce my statements.
Please, do not shop here. There are many nice items but prices can be very high. More importantly, the customer service is unfathomably terrible! The manager Jennifer is arrogant and dismissive. Don't waste your time and money at this business.
Fantastic mid century modern store. Great product all around from furniture to accessories. The staff is very knowledgeable and not pushy, which is helpful when you are shopping for these types of items. If you want good quality, this is your store!!!
An overall seamless experience from start to finish for the customization and delivery of our new sofa!
Thank you for the last few years of over-priced products and EXTREMELY poor customer service, FULLHOUSE MODERN. I will cherish the days where I referred friends to your store, but no more! It's been a sweet ride, but other establishments such as BANANA LAB, REFIND on MAIN, ATTIC TREASURES and MID-CENTURY MODERN HOME in New Westminster deserve my business. You see, I don't need your full attention when I step into your store, but upon eye contact, it would be nice to be acknowledged. A simple "hello" or smile would be nice. I'm not asking for much, just a little respect and I'd easily fork over my hard-earned money. I guess you don't want it bad enough.
By the way, great way to speak to your clientele:
"Adam, you are a 1st class idiot. Your story here is fiction. Get a life, and find something worthwhile to complain about."
By the way, I NEVER leave reviews, but people deserve to know how much time they're going to waste when they step inside your building.
xoxo
Beautiful furniture, helpful staff, expensive but timeless pieces
Fullhouse Modern is a great one-of-a-kind destination for the modern and vintage furniture lover. Their focus is on mid-century modern style blended with warm contemporary design. They carry a wide selection of original 1960's-era pieces from Scandinavia, as well as new, inspired furniture and decor. Some items are imported, while others are Canadian or US-made. With an ever-changing showroom full of exceptional quality and unique designs, it's never hard to find that special item, or even several of them. The sales staff are very knowledgable and helpful, and the delivery guys really know what they're doing.
I recently purchased a custom sectional sofa from them, and couldn't be happier with the fabric options, design details and sturdy construction. If I had more room in my tiny Vancouver condo, I would certainly be spending more money at Fullhouse.
The selection is definitely top notch if you are looking for mid century. Gorgeous pieces, unique and well constructed, keep in mind the price does reflect on this.
I had my eyes on a table but decided to pass on it due to the service.
We were politely approached by a gentleman asking if we needed help. We told him we were interested in the table and if there was another one other than the floor model because there were scratches on it. He said that they do have 1 more in the warehouse but they usually sell the showroom one first, then bring in the warehouse one to replace it. I asked if we could see the warehouse one. He said no because it is all wrapped up. I asked can we purchase the warehouse one, and swap it for the floor one if we decided we liked the grain of the showroom one instead. To me there is no loss for their business as we'll be making a purchase of a table anyways. We still would be paying for a table and didn't quite mind about the scratches, we just wanted to choose the wood grain we liked best. He kind of went on about they'll need to assemble it and call us back to pick it up, which we said we had no problem about. We decided to do another walk around the shop before we made our purchase.
The gentleman then walked away and chatted with a woman (the boss) who was nearby and listening to the whole convo. Later he approached us again and said that his boss said that the warehouse one was broken. He said there is only the floor model but he can try to take out the scratches with some oil.
Weird. I thought that the box was all wrapped up? Also, throughout the convo with her being there, she didn't interrupt us to let us know that there was only the floor model left. With him explaining in the beginning that they usually sell the floor model one first, it's hard not to feel that they want to sell the on sale, scratched floor model first before bringing out the warehouse good condition one.
In the end we felt uncomfortable with our experience and decided to search somewhere else in the end.
The customer service here is absolutely horrible. I've never been treated so unkind. Jennifer is beyond rude I'm speechless. We bought a teak credenza from Fullhouse Modern ( which was over priced) We have had issues with our Gus Sectional, we were told by Gus to approach a local retailer to get it fixed. The closes one being Fullhouse, and as I stated before we have bought a credenza and oil to clean the furniture. I figured it was my best bet as I have been a customer there before. Jennifer was very rude on the phone and I took it as she was having a bad day. Jennifer said on the phone she would contact Gus for me. I emailed Jennifer as her request and she was unbelievably rude, dismissive and changed her mind on contacting Gus for me and asked me to find another Gus retailer to fix this issue. I contacted Gus directly and they are going to fix the issues. Gus is a great company.
I feel sorry for Jennifer as her life must be so pathetic that she feels the need to act this way for no reason. My advice is to stay away. Lots of great stores with great costumer service. :)
Great selection of really great mid-century modern furniture but, yikes, is it ever expensive!
