  Winter camping in elkwater is awesome. Super quiet as not many people around. Lots of wildlife to see. The museum, store and cafe are still open. Great peaceful time.

  Nice, quiet, out-of-the-way camp site!
  
  This campground is in the middle of the Cypress Hills Dark Sky Preserve, which means star gazing here is fantastic.
  
  We went pretty early in the year, so there was nobody manning the registration site, nor were there very many campers there. It was great! Super quiet, and it was easily to feel isolated from the other people (which is kinda the point).

  Old Baldy Campground very nice with some private sites. Grounds very well kept with immaculate shower facilities. Tons of great hikes and we caught a pile of pike and perch in the lake. We had Wild Turkeys come through our campsite one morning. We will definitely go back
