Very tasty and a nice atmosphere with lots of character. Ugly Halloween decorations though. Excellent happy hour menu everyday
Service was slow, menu was small, found hair in my food, and the proportions for the chicken quesadilla were small. But, the fries were good and the servers were nice. Overall, I'm not going back and will not recommend this place to others.
Staff is always friendly, food at this location is prepared very well and usually tastes the way you'd expect! Great atmosphere
Kelsey D. Was the best server ive ever had. So wonderful and attentive and made our dining experience awesome! Thank you Kelsey!
Earls is always one of my stops when I travel, as we do not have them on the East Coast. They have one of the best clam chowders I have had in my life. I had that followed by a 6 ounce steak, mac and cheese, and Caesar salad. It was delightful. My server was probably one of the best servers I’ve ever had in my life. She made me, a solo diner, feel very comfortable within the restaurant space. The inside and outside of this location we’re both beautiful.
Great place for lunch! We had the soup of the day and a club sandwhich and it was delicious. The brick wasn't ridiculously think like you usually get with most sandwhiches. Service was prompt although it took us way too long to get seated outside. The greeter wasn't at her booth so we walked to the back, only to have the girl send us back up front to the girl at the booth. So we waited, meanwhile one in our party walked outside (went to bathroom so did not see we were at the front) and was seated immediately without us. Other then that simple hiccup, the rest was great! Highly recommend the patio. Nice vines growing everywhere and the wasps were not that bad.
Very large place so you can often find a quiet area. Food is slightly overpriced imo. Modern setting. Good for groups.
Go there hungry and leave hungry. The meals are so small unless you eat the buffet that you really need to order two meals to fill yourself up unless you're a bird, but who wants to pay for two regular priced meals? Why the hell wouldn't they give a good sized meal? How much money are they saving by making the meals so small?
It is not the same Earls as of last year and before. Different, poorer, menu. Poor preparation, poor menu (for example: no fish, no prawns No olives!)
Very expensive! for the offer. Very hot local, we had to leave!
Doubt if we will be back, sorry
Who doesn't love Earls! They have done a good job at making sure there is parking available and its never a problem to park here. The food is always good, service is always good and never really to wait for a table. It is always a pleasure to come here for food or drinks.
We love the food at Earl's and most often the service. Lunch today took almost an hour to get to our table. When it arrived it was good but it felt like lip service when we mentioned the extensive wait to our server. I don't want an excuse. Just take care of your customers!
Good food and a nice atmosphere, but suffering from their success. Once near the top of our choices for Saskatoon, Earl's has slipped badly over the years. Now apparently focused on capitalizing on a certain trendiness, they are less responsive to the needs of long term clients. No longer taking reservations, diners are expected to wait in long lines for the privilege of purchasing their wares, and are no longer permitted to decide what tip is deserved.
The food is generally really good. The portions are actually the right size, but rather overpriced in my opinion. The beer is generally pretty good.
You're mainly paying for the trendy atmosphere. And I mainly go because it's a block from my house. There are better places for food and beer at better prices if you look around.
But it always does in a pinch.
Nice spot for a good drink and a good meal. Interior is great with a massive open kitchen. Service is decent. If you can, grab a booth; it's the best searing.
Twice in one week so had a chance to sample both their lunch and dinner experiences. Pretty major caveat is that both times were with large groups (10+ people) so this review will be skewed to rate them based on their handling our group.
Overall the wait staff and kitchen did an excellent job handling us on both occasions. The drinks were kept full, the food arrived hot and in a timely manner and the atmosphere of the restaurant was great, as usual. There is something pretty special about the Earl's in Saskatoon in that it used to be a McGavin's bakery and the conversion to the restaurant while leaving some of the characteristic architecture in place makes it a lovely setting.
Only qualm would be with the general friendliness of the wait staff. Dealing with large groups is always stressful so I"ll give them a pass on this, but definitely something to be aware of.
I sampled the bacon/cheddar burger for dinner and the chili chicken for lunch. Both were delicious, but I am not a fussy eater.
So generally good overall and to close: Don't say bread, say Earl's!
