After some fine tuning with the french polish technique and some help from some people that learned from one of the best this guitar is shinny and of to its proper home on sunday
screwin arround with a new camera lol
I spent the afternoon getting a shine on lol .This is after two good sessions and about two more to go
Ah pore filling almost done and it is starting to get a shine on.Two or three good sessions and it should look pretty nice I hope lol I like it when you can start to see the reflection from the window in my shop
I am still in the pore filling phase so not more than a spit coat but I think it's going to look great
Just brewed up a new batch of shellac and tinted some pumice with some pigment. The darker colour takes on the shade of the rosewood when pore filling every guitar maker's favourite job.I don't enjoy the pore filling part but the results are worth it.The picture here is just a spit coat so you can see the open pores. Not to exciting but I think my son will be happy lol
I spent a couple of hours today refinishing the guitar I built for my son Eric.I french polish and I used a cheaper alcohol and It left a bit of a cloud under neath a pretty good shine anyway I knew better but thought I would give it try at the time. There is always a bright side I was able to sand a few tiny mistakes that only the guitar maker knows about HAHA
I was thrilled to find Don't Fretand so close to home! My son's guitar needed a lot of work and it sounds better than ever. You cannot beat his service and pricing. Highly recommended!
I've seen his work first hand, it's fantastic. His guitars sound amazing as well, and he's also an equally amazing player. Truly loves what he does.
