On this Remembrance Sunday the brothers of Delta Kappa Epsilon at McGill are remembering, among the tens of thousands who went off to fight, the brave brothers of the Tau Alpha chapter who gave their lives so we could live ours. This is a special year for remembrance, as it marks the 100th anniversary of the Armistice that ended the Great War. In the Second World War, over 6,000 Dekes served in the armed forces of Canada and the United States, and over 300 gave their lives. Among the many Dekes, we remember Frank 'Tony' Wolever, TA '43, who served in the Royal Canadian Navy in the Atlantic convoys, in the Mediterranean during the liberation of Italy, and during the Normandy invasion that ended Nazi rule of Europe. Although he made it home alive, today we especially remember the many Dekes who never returned and who still lie in war cemeteries across the world. Lest We Forget

Since 1921, the Poppy has stood as a symbol of Remembrance, our visual pledge to never forget all those Canadians who have fallen in war and military operations. The Poppy also stands internationally as a "symbol of collective reminiscence", as other countries have also adopted its image to honor those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice. DKE has once again partnered with the Royal Canadian Legion to assist in the nationwide annual Poppy Campaign. You can catch brothers distributing poppies at the Roddick Gates between 11am-1pm leading up to Remembrance day November 11th.

DKE has once again partnered with the Royal Canadian Legion to assist in the nationwide annual Poppy Campaign. You can catch brothers distributing poppies at the Roddick Gates between 11am-1pm leading up to Remembrance day November 11th. Furthermore, we encourage you to join the Mcgill/Montreal community at the official Remembrance Day Ceremony taking place at Place Du Canada starting at approximately 10:30 am on November 11th.
History: Each November, Poppies blossom on the lapels and collars of over half of Canada's entire population. Since 1921, the Poppy has stood as a symbol of Remembrance, our visual pledge to never forget all those Canadians who have fallen in war and military operations. The Poppy also stands internationally as a "symbol of collective reminiscence", as other countries have also adopted its image to honour those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice. This significance of the Poppy can be traced to international origins.
Objective: The mission of The Royal Canadian Legion is "to serve veterans and their dependents, to promote Remembrance, and to act in the service of Canada and its communities". In essence, the purposes and objects of the Legion were born of the need to further the spirit of comradeship and mutual assistance among all who have served and never to forget the deeds of the fallen. It is paramount that the Legion strives to pass on these goals and traditions to the families and descendants of our ex-service personnel and to raise this awareness among all Canadians. This November campaign, which sees Poppies distributed to Canadians of all ages, serves to perpetuate Remembrance by ensuring that the memory and sacrifices of our war veterans are never forgotten.

Delta Kappa Epsilsons’s brothers and pledges are incredibly excited and proud to participate in Movember this year! We hope to raise $500 and need your help to reach our goal. Movember is an event that takes place throughout the month of November that raises money for and promotes awareness of men’s health issues, such as, prostate cancer, testicular cancer and suicide. Yesterday was the last day of classes for McGill students and as the semesters draws to a close we, unfortunately, must say goodbye to graduating brothers. These gentlemen, scholars and jolly good fellows have done amazing impactful work in shaping our organization throughout their years as undergraduate students. We are certain these brothers will move on to do great things and we wish them the best of luck as they embark on the next chapter of their lives! ~ITB

DKE is taking part in the McGill Drop the Puck on Cancer Fraternity Hockey Tournament Today, 6:00pm-11pm, in order to fundraise for Cancer Research! The tickets are $10 on tilt, and we encourage you to contribute whether you can make it to the game or not--it's for a great cause. Purchasing the ticket also buys you admission to an open-bar after-party!
