Do you think the BoC will raise rates tomorrow?
A lot of friends and clients regularly ask me where I think interest rates are headed. I like to explain what trends I observe but also note that rates are forward looking and tied to economic expectations. One of the key indicators is bond yields. This Blog from Home Trust explains that a recently inverted yield curve may have an effect on rates.

Rates are up! There are still some deals from certain lenders if you meet their criteria as not everyone changes their rates at the same time. Let me know if you have questions!

PSA: The CRA will not send you a refund via interac etransfer. There is a popular scam going around and you can see what the phishing email looks like here: https://www.reddit.com/…/reminder_cra_does_not_send_you_ta…/
Rates are going up everywhere as bond yields are already priced into fixed rates ahead of the BoC announcement. If you need to make a move in the next 120 days and want a low rate before they're all gone, let me know! 2.49% 5 year fixed.

I almost never miss taking down someone's phone number but David and I had a chat about 2 weeks ago and we determined that it did not make sense to make changes to his mortgage as he would save more staying where he is. He sent me a gift card but I couldn't call to thank him! Wherever you are David C, thank you :)

Dave is a great resource who is particularly useful at aggregating explaining and offering products from Canadian financial institutions. Canadian banks are always open to doing business with brokers like Dave who expedite the mortgage closing process.
