Very understanding staff, and our vet was knowledgeable and fair. Yes pricing is on the high side, but not too high for emergency service anytime of the day or night. 5 stars for compassionate and timely pet care - our labrador received top-notch attention.

We were treated with the ultimate care and compassion when our three year old English Setter, Charlotte, had to be euthanized in the early hours of the morning during our vacation to Parksville last June. It was a tough situation for us but everyone involved in Charlotte's care that night from the front desk staff through to the techs and the vet who was with us at the end were extremely kind and we will be forever grateful.

Our 2 year old Golden Retriever Kevin spent some time with the lovely people from Central Island Veterinary Hospital last night. What a great group. Mariah, Amber and Dr. Natasha Leamy were all amazing to deal with and we were so thankful to have this service available to us day/night. Thank you all so much!!!

My 10 week old puppy was very lethargic and I was conceded about her. I took her to this emergency hospital and they were so understanding and caring about my puppy. The staff generally care about pets and called me back the next day to check on her well being.

Great staff. I'm glad it's 24 hours.
However, pricing is ridiculous - way to costly so I recommend only use in emergencies

We have had to make four visits(along with visits to our regular vet) in the past 2 weeks with a sick and accident prone kitten too young to be vaccinated yet. We saw a different doctor for each visit and all were great.

I have seen many complaints about price but I did not find that to be an issue at all. I was honest upfront about my available budget though they never even got close to the limit and with free follow up appointments it was actually less than the charge would have been from my regular vet.

Awful experience. Horribly insensitive, and threatening staff. Dishonest, overpriced and dishonorable veterinarian. You should be ashamed of yourselves for exploiting people for your own gain. You're lucky we didn't record our interactions and expose your business for what it is. Thankfully we left your establishment and found a veterinarian who took care of our dog in a wonderful and affordable way.

I'd say use for emergencies only. Sadly, we had no other choice and you pay more here than the usual vet, but we couldn't get an appointment in town. Also be prepared to pay up front, before services are provided.

Very friendly staff, i expected it to cost a lot more with all of the negative comments. (Its actually very reasonable) Overall i'm very happy with my experience bringing my ferret there.

Gave them 1 star for being open 24h. Otherwise, I was floored at the pricing they charge (in my case, euthanasia and cremation). Same service was $100 cheaper at two other vets. When I made reference to the price, I was asked "is money a problem for you?". I would've been interested to hear what offer she was proposing (BOGO, possibly?), but I'd had more than enough by then. Try Applecross Veterinarian instead. Very pleased with that place.
