Our experience was excellent. Sean does a great job trying to meet customers requests. Every person from front desk to housecleaning was friendly and accomodating.
I travel to Melfort once a week, and have been staying at the Canalta for over 4 years. They are more expensive than the other hotels in the city, but are worth every extra penny. Good continental breakfast, very nice workout room and always good to relax in the hot tub after a long day. And of course the rooms are great (beds feel like your sleeping on a cloud)
Stayed while in town for meetings and fund raiser for a volounteer organization I am a member of. The block booking "expired" the day before I booked, so maybe that's why I did not get the same nightly rate as the other members.
The biggest disappointment was the complimentary breakfast I have stayed in Canalta hotels many times (14 nights in the Moosomin location in July 2014 for work reasons, for example) and have raved to family and friends about the fabulous breakfast fare at Canalta but for this trip, the hot entrée server was no where to be seen, the bagel selection was limited, not much to pick from besides waffles, toast, or cold cereal?
The room was nice, big, clean and well kept. Our room had one bed and no armchair, a friend's room had two beds and a comfortable armchair. The breakfast area was out of apple juice and orange juice, with no attendant in sight.
It was too expensive for the town I was staying in. Room was neat and clean. The cable on the TV was analog and most channels were fussy or not watchable. Luckily I wasn't in the room long enough to depend on TV. The Continental breakfast was very basic. Looking for more in a breakfast with a two queen room costing close to $200 a night in a small town.
Beds are very comfortable .. had a great sleep . Wonderful breakfast !
Loved the complimentary breakfast and popcorn!! Great stay.
A nice big room, nice linens, nice bed. A good night's sleep, but not one of the better continental breakfasts I've had. No hot items just cereal and many day old breads. The waffle iron wasn't ready and the coffee wasn't hot. But I'll be back as this is the only hotel worth staying at in this town.
Fairly friendly, check-in took awhile but it was clean and inexpensive
Pet friendly, whirlpool and steam room area were very clean and well stocked with towels. I would definitely go again if I were staying in Melfort.
