Messed up my hair too many times to go back. Wanted to get some subtle strawberry blonde at the top of my hair and go to ombré lighter than my hair at the bottom. Well she died the top of my hair red, full on red. Then after a few months my hair turned orange so I went back to get it fixed and they said they would match my hair to my ends (which was lighter than my natural, which I told them) I told them my ends weren't my natural colour and they were all like "oh yeah we know it's okay" so I thought maybe it'll fade back to my natural colour after a while, nope. My roots came in and they were bad, never going there again, also have totally scared me from dying the top of my hair ever again, has to get my hair dyed again after she dyed it so light, the girl I went to fixed it, she actually used to work there but she left because the girls are all really mean and there's a lot of drama apparently..

I decided to try out the spa after doing some online searches. I usually frequent spas in Calgary, but loathe the drive downtown to go to my usual spot. I am glad I took the chance!!! Warm greeting at reception was echoed by the spa hostess as she greeted me up to the Spa as she led me thru the spa to prepare for my appointment. The atmosphere is very down-to-earth and unpretentious. I LOVE the quiet lounging area-- it's the only place outside of my own house I can hang out in a robe and not feel like a slob! The treatment rooms & bathrooms are tidy and the tools used during the treatments seem cleaner than some places-- it's nice to see the estheticians opening packages to get to their tools. This is not something I've seen at some of the spas I've been to in Calgary. Overall, great experience-- I can't wait to try out their salon services.

HORRIBLE. I had my hair done a week before my birthday last February by Dawn, whom I was recommended to by a few friends. So I showed up 10 minutes early (as recommended with whom I booked the appointment) and after waiting 30 minutes for her to be done with her last client, I showed her a picture and trusted her opinion when she told me she was going to have to do a full color. So after the color had processed and she rinsed me she took me over to her station and I was shocked that my hair was orange So she re-toned it. It went from orange to yellow (by this point my hair was very dry and brittle). I spent 2 days crying after paying over $200 for this awful coloring job. After my birthday had past I finally called and asked to speak to the manager, she told me I had to purchase a purple toner for $30 (spend more money no thank you) or they would re-tone it. This had been toned 3 times. 3 TIMES!! Toning was not the solution.. I was hoping I would have been offered a refund, but of course I wasn't, so I went to Red Bloom salon (Bridgeland) in Calgary and spent another $270 and had 4" inched cut off just to have it fixed. I am very un-pleased. I will never EVER recommend Cactus Club Salon to anyone.

This salon offers a lot of services with a large staff. Local and conveniently located in Okotoks, the salon may be located in a smaller town, but has a big city vibe. Recently I came in to have a service done and when the service was not what I had expected/met my expectations, Mandy, the owner went above and beyond to rectify my experience. Something that not all salon owners would do. Definitely worth going to.
