We enjoyed our stay here. The accomodation is a short walk from the water and we could cook our own food so for us as an outdoor family it was a perfect combination of price, convenience, and hospitality. The woman working there is really nice and helpful and she even left us a gift basket which was a nice surprise. We often use AirBnB so we like the personal touches. I would stay here again.
Never again! I used to love this place, basic but great view of the river and dock access. Went to check in and was told the back is no longer accesible, it is completly blocked off!? No one told this to me when I called to book the same room as last year. A total rip off too, 160 for a ghetto unit that should be 80 at most, with no access to the river which was the whole point of staying there. Next year will be staying at the riverside inn down the street!
Was very disappointed with our stay this time. Caution tape around deck and told we could not use it because of construction, gazebo and dock in disrepair. Will not return!
My friends and I stayed in a spacious and comfortable 2 bedroom suite with a kitchenette. We originally booked an air bnb elsewhere which didn't work out and had tons of groceries which would've gone to waste if we didn't find a place with cooking facilities. Also a beautiful backyard and dock right along the Cowichan River. Very friendly owners and nice place. Will definitely be back for the summer to float down the cowichan river!
Nice people, but that was where it ended. Room incredibly cold, heated with 2 tiny space heaters only. "Spa" suite had basement style single window. jacuzzi had overpowering bleach smell and was out of hot water before full. Add that to a "pet fee" of $35. Final touch was the single black hair from unknown stranger between the sheets; maybe an ode to a mint on pillow. I would rather sleep in my car.
It was a beautiful spot. Comfy bed, nice bedding. Very cozy, Kara the GM was very inviting and a wonderful lady. Will be back for sure.
This is the best place to stay in Lake Cowichan. It is very pet and family friendly which I love. The prices are right and you get access to the grounds which are a slice of British Columbia's Pacific West Coast Wilderness. You can relax on the wharf or beside the outdoor fire area or stay and enjoy the jacuzzi and sunshine in your room. I hear you can fish right of the wharf and cook on the BBQ provided. They also have cooking facilities in your room which are very handy. I really like the patios and direct access to outdoors from your room. If you just need a hotel for the night it's got great rates but there's lots of extras to make you stay and return. The hosts are attentive and will help you find your way around. Where else can you get riverfront access, cooking amenities, and jacuzzis at this price?
