I really appreciated the woman who helped me up on the third floor. She went the extra mile to try and find something that didn’t end up being in stock, and i was so grateful i grabbed the first thing she recommended. I don’t always get that level of service and welcome in a used book store, so i really appreciated it.
Happy with the deals I got I'd have totally given 5 stars but you lose it for shitty customer service twice in the in the space of one week from two different girls. Common courtesy for a cashier would be to great your customer and say thank you. I guess that's too difficult for torontonian hipsters in the annex.
Staff are so dry and rude. Especially the guy that buys the used books. I've stopped going there after realizing that they don't appreciate frequent visitors. Treat shoppers better.
I love these bookstores. Always great stuff at amazing prices. My only complaint is they don't have one in Oshawa lol.
BMV is the last truly great thing about Toronto.
A visit to BMV is a must for all Toronto visitors. The store is well organized, has killer prices, and holds many incredible finds. Vinyl, comics, classic Little Golden Books, incredible boxed sets, BMV has it all! Be prepared to spend a few hours in the stacks and leave with arms full!
This is my new favorite place. Too bad I live at a 6h drive from Toronto! They have so many books of all kinds it's incredible! The prices are so cheap for mostly new books! If I'd live nearby I would probably go by every few days to see if there are any new arrivals!
BMV is by far my favourite bookstore in Toronto! I have been shopping at all 3 locations for years, and have spent countless hundreds of dollars! They really should have a "frequent buyers club" or something haha! Regardless of if I'm searching for a specific book, or just browsing, I will ALWAYS find something. I will go to BMV before I will go to Chapters, I go to BMV every Christmas for my little cousins' gifts, and I go to BMV to build my beautiful library of science and language books.
Thank you BMV for being so awesome. You're prices are low, your stores are clean, your people are friendly, and most importantly, your book selection is by far, the best in Toronto!
I shop at BMV whenever I am in Toronto. The selection is very strong, the books are usually in good/very good condition and the prices are excellent too! My favorite branches are the one at Yonge and Eglinton and the one on Bloor near Spadina, but Edward street is very good too. Wish they had branches in Kitchener/Waterloo. That would be cool as that is where I live. However, it does give me a few great places to go when I am in T.O. and want to buy some books.
sold some james bond dvds, and got a good deal, they have good selection of books, dvds, blurays, the only thing i dont like is false advertiseing on the website saying you will buy comics but when u go to the store the person working there says they want old comics, the website should say that next time
Great value and selection. I found the employees excellent.
Amazing prices, whenever I am in any other bookstore and I wanna buy a book, I think hmm will bmv have this, and I know if they do, it will be at least 75% cheaper and just as crisp. I never walk out empty handed
The customer service lady is unpleasant and doesn't answer the greeting, the place is incredible, it's a shame!
I love this bookstore. Great customer service and selection.
BMV staff are incredibly rude and the guy who works at Yonge Street location is mentally disturbed.
Rare finds aplenty that are at used prices to boot! Would recommend it to anyone out of province who happens to be in Toronto.
Best prices in town! Blows Indigo/Chapters out of the water. Great selection of DVDs at Annex store.
Friendly staff, excellent selection, and amazing prices. This is one of my favorite places to visit in Toronto.
BMV is great! I used to work near the Yonge store. A wonderful way day to spend lunch hour, browsing shelves + picking up a title or 2.
BMV stopped being cool a long time ago. If you need a book, shop online instead.
