Classic French cuisine in a classically designed but very dated place. Solid dishes but non of them made us say wow. Fois gras was nice but small and didn't have the bold flavors we expected, same for the classic French onion soup, which I my self make a better soup. I had a medium cooked 6oz Tenderloin, which was cooked perfectly but a bit small and again not very bold in flavors. My partner had Duck Confit which was very good, crispy skin, duck fat, tender meat. Sides of man& cheese ( is that French?! ) Was good, and French Fries (cooked in duck fat) which were AMAZING but a bit too salty. That was a dish I would come back to, but it was only one. Creme Brulee was nice, not anything special. The service was very very very slow. Especially waiting for each dish to come out, but also the waiter seemed to be really busy with all his tables. Would help to keep more waiters and cooks on a shift, we payed allot of money we expect an excellent fast service.

Friendly waiters (they didn't speak French though) but the food and the desert were very good. I didn't feel it was expensive

Quite nice inside, very cozy environment for a chat. Standard tasty french food, and a great wine list. Reccommended for a casual dinner or fancy brunch.

Came here twice for Dine-Out Vancouver (different year). The first time the food was great but the second time the food was a bit salty still would recommend this place as the overall service, atmosphere and food is great.

I had Tatar as appetizer, all I could taste is, i guess mayo and pickles never had one as un tasty like this one.
Main course fish no flavour just plant dull taste.
Waiter did not even once ask us how is the food tasting.
    Presentation of dishes not impressive.

Food was delicious and service was fantastic. The crowd was older and the ambiance was not your typical Vancouver-style, well-lit and yellow walls. More like a cafe in southern France, which I guess is what they were going for!

I came here for dine out 2017. The mushroom soup was good. wagyu beef cheeks were not bad. Service was not bad. Atmosphere is pretty romantic.

Had a great experience at Bistro Pastis. It's traditional French cuisine, in a traditional environment. Very classy atmosphere, light music in the background, well-thought through menu and most importantly perfect execution of delicious dishes. Note, this restaurant is not reinventing the wheel, instead you will know what you get while still being surprised by the creativity, in short, it's a delight to eat here. Not surprisingly, this experience comes with a price, but frankly the quality of food and extensive wine menu, combined with attentive yet non intrusive staff will make you want to come back. Perfect for special occasions, but also just for a treat for two.
