A bit pricey, but worth it! Food is great and the menu always has an interesting feature. Service is hit or miss.

Looking for great southern BBQ, well look no further! Try the platters and share all the fixin’s! Everything you try is better than the last item! Very consistent! Barque has been my go to location for 5 years now! You’ll love it!

It was our first time at Barues and our dining experience was average. The taste of the wings and ribs were very good and very flavorful. However, the place is very loud, and sometimes hard to hear the server who we found a bit smug, and her service to be a bit slow. Even though she was happy to accommodate my wife who as a Gluten allergy, we found that we were restricted in ordering what we all wanted. Having dinner at a restaurant should be a pleasurable experience which includes sharing of dishes. This is not the case at Barque. They don’t allow patrons to order their signature “Smokers Choice” full course dinner unless everyone in your party of 4 would be forced to order it. The two males in our party were big meat eaters, however our wives not so much. According to the server, who was a bit smug for my liking, they don’t allow this because they don’t want people to share their food. Also, we found that our ribs were served lukewarm (at best). When we asked the server, she mentioned that their ribs come out of the smoker and they will not be hot, she made us feel stupid for stating the food was to cold. I understand that meat cooked in a smoker will cook at lower temperatures than meat cooked on a bbq grill. But our ribs were lukewarm. A good server, would of at least asked if we wanted our meat to be heated on a grill. We didn’t get that option, just a smug reply and attitude. Barque could easily be a 5 star if they loosened up on the ordering restriction on their signature meal and have servers with better attitudes.

Love this place. It's a spot I bring out-of-towners to because of the excellent food and amazingly friendly service. And they're one of most kids friendly restaurants in the city. Get the sampler. You can't go wrong.

This is my second time visiting Barque and it gets better and better each time. The staff was very friendly and helpful with the menu. We ordered the baby back ribs and pulled pork sandwich, they were both equally delicious but our fries were over seasoned. We brought that to their attention and without hesitation, they offered either a new batch of fries or a side salad. Their BBQ sauce is well done, a right balance of sweet and smokiness. Will I recommend this place to my friends? Definitely! If you were to go during their rush hour, remember to call in advance or make your reservation ahead of time.

What can I say about Barque. I have been to this restaurant at least 6 times and each time it is amazing.
Barque is hands down the best BBQ joint in the city of Toronto. I love this place. The decor is absolutely lovely and the sauce is to die for. Barque is so lit that I want to work there so I can find out how to make their french fries, ribs and chicken wings!
Also their chicken wings are so on point! Best chicken wings in the city of Toronto as well.

Would give it 4 1/2 stars but I don't have the option :/. Food was absolutely delicious but it doesn't get 5 starts since the service was slow and the pacing of the dishes was odd.
We did go on father's day, so it was busy but, the order and pacing of our meals was kind of off. We got the smokers choice. After about a 30 minute wait our wings came first, before the salad, and then there was about another 25 minute wait until the rest of the food came. Server was friendly but not really attentive. Again, it was busy and I understand we can't have all the attention but, I do know this place is always packed on Sundays. So I can't really see it as an excuse.
Wouldn't stop me from going back though. Wings, ribs, brisket, and pulled pork were all stellar. I would definitely eat that again (and again, and again)response / report this review -

It's hard to find a great restaurant in Toronto that also does a great job of catering to toddlers. Barque's absolutely meets and exceeds this criteria. Apart from amazing smoked BBQ ribs, brisket, and pork; Barque's whips up one of the best Caesars in the city. The service is amazing and having a 2 year old toddler didn't make us feel out of place at all because we were surrounded by other kids.
Highly recommended. Especially the honey/bacon-rimmed Caesar!response / report this review -

Always delicious! I highly recommend making a reservation ahead of time, especially if your are going for brunch. Awesome for large and small parties alike. While the Meet Meat platter says that it serves 4 I would say it could easily feed 6; especially if you order starters and sides. Staff is wonderful! Always friendly and happy to help you navigate between the many difficult choices on the menu.

This place is overpriced for what it is. The bbq is edible but far from the best I've ever had. The wait staff seem far too busy to give you good service. The wait to be seated was definitely not worth it. I heard good things about this place but it seems it was all hype. Won't be returning.

Went there for a pick up and we ended up dinning in. Great atmosphere and really good food. Their Cesar salad is a must to have. We got wings and beef brisket. Both were really good but I had to get rid of some of the fat of my brisket. Would definitely come back to try their racks.

Fantastic food and service. Made reservations. Ordered the meet meat platter, wings, Mac n cheese and brussels sprouts. Terrific kid's menu. Would come here again but with more people since we had a lot of leftovers.

This place is not bad. I've been to most BBQ places in Toronto and to be honest, the best of them would be considered average or below average if you were in the States. Barque is no different.
Had the Meat Platter four Four. Came with ribs (the best thing on the platepretty decent), beef brisket (not much flavour), competition chicken thigh (presentation is nice but not much flavour), lamb shoulder (kinda bland), turkey sausage (interesting texture), pulled pork (OK). This plate was $99 for four people so it was actually really decent value for the amount of food. But the flavour was simply lacking.
Service was friendly and pro. Atmosphere is nice. Not bad, but nothing to write home about.response / report this review -

loved it great atmosphere for a fun date. I saw lots families, they were in one area it seemed. so it still felt like a date. Amazing beef brisket!!
loved the salad!! and service. Really like the popcorn.. i asked when do they refill it, just in case. she looked me right We didn't have the ribs will have them next time, we filled up on lots and lost of yummy beef brisket!! thx.. see everyone soon.response / report this review
