Worth every single penny. We went in winter, so I can't say too much to the line/crowd or anything as it was fairly sparse in size the day we went. It takes about 10 minutes from bottom to top and the views are just out of this world!

I did the limited time offer pass to take the gondola up and eat a five course meal while up there. Even for a snowy day the views were awesome! There's a bit of educational info up there but not much to do otherwise so if you're looking to make it special, plan to eat up there by buying food at the restaurants or bringing your own. Didn't see any animals but it was a cool experience!

Beautiful and awesome experience. The only reason it got three stars is because it’s $56 to simply ride a gondola to the top of the mountain. To me this is very overpriced. The establishment would probably do better if They would drop the prices but I guess they use this to their advantage because The know people will pay the money, like myself.

Fun experience! We bought our tickets for a ride up at 4 and a ride down at 6, but we were able to get up there earlier and come back down sooner thanks to the friendly staff. Beautiful views from the top of the mountain, but not much to do whole you're up there. There was a boardwalk that could be taken over to another area, which was nice. Also, there is a quick area to look at some museum like stuff, but not enough to do to spend 2 hours up there.

Beautiful views, extremely well done viewing stations (boardwalk is quite a feat!) The educational displays inside are fabulous. Modern, interesting, and technically sophisticated. Cafeteria and Cafe provide awesome views and a great variety of meal or snack options. But a combo ticket (gondola and skywalk or gondola and boat ride or all three) and you'll save $. Love the customer service They answer the phone and are understanding about needs to change arrangements or be flexible.

Very courteous staff help you in and out of the Gondola. The view is simply amazing! The visiting center at the top has lots of very interesting information about the area, wild life and history. There is a lot of information about the different bears tagged in the area. Very cool place to visit with kids. There is a small cafe, a restaurant, gift shop and plenty of decks to view the scenery.

Walking up was not an option for us, so having read the many reviews we took a gamble on the gondola and were pleased we did. Most of our concern was with excessive wait times but that was not our experience. Granted, it was a partly cloudy day with rain in the forecast, and mid-week too. Pros; stunning views, spacious and easy walkway to the peak, negligible wait times, friendly staff, adequate parking (we parked in overflow lot close to gondola). Cons; seems crazily expensive, and the allotted time (1h 20) was too little for us but we had no trouble going down 15 minutes after our assigned time. We would recommend this to those not able to walk up the trail, when it is not likely to be very busy.

Loved the whole experience! A bit pricey. But you can save 10% if you book online 48 hours in advance on Gondola ride. Plus if you reach before 10 am you may also get a child free per adult ticket. Which otherwise cost close to 31$. I feel it was worth! Heavenly views all around! Nice new renovations and facilities uphill.

A fun thing to do in Banff, well worth it for the great views at the top Unless you're super active and feel like hiking up under your own steam. Would only go on a nice clear day, there's no reason to do it if it's overcast and foggy. Recommend buying tickets in advance for the discount, and taking your own picnic supplies. Stay longer than an hour if you're going to eat.

Spectacular view. An amazing experience. A little expensive but the experience itself is priceless.
Went to the Sky Bistro and we were not disappointed. That was some Gordon Ramsay lookin' fancy-ass food going on there. WILL be back 100%
Also our waitress was amazing. Can't remember her name but she was fantastic.

This is a must-do activity if you're in Banff. Take the gondola up the mountains (it's not as scary as it looks); then, walk the trail up to the summit in Sulphur Mountain (it doesn't take as long as it seems). The gondola takes you from 1,583 above sea level to 2,281 above sea level. It's about a five-minute ride. There is the trail that leads you to the summit of Sulphur Mountain (Sanson's Peak). Take in the stunning views of the mountains, the lakes and the sky. They also set up an informative stand where you can identify Mount Temple, Mount Cory, Mount Edith, Mount Louis, Mount Norquay, Mount Brewster, and Cascade Mountain and more, all of which you can recognize from the trail (not so sure if you go on a cloudy or rainy day). The only downsides are you may need to wait in line for a long time, and the tickets are expensive at $49 per person.

Great trip to the top of the mountain above Banff. The walkways at the top make it easy to wander around (used to be trails, now a proper boardwalk). The interpretive center at the top is pretty good -- explains a lot about the formation of the mountains you see, why they have their shapes and explains about "sulfur mountain". I would call this a pricey outing - $40CDN per person.

The most beautiful snow mountain scenery I've ever seen. In my opinion it's even better than Alpines scenery. It was a clear weather day, so I was lucky enough to enjoy the beauty scenery. The golden afternoon sun reflection on the snowy mountains is breathtaking and most memorable.
