  we have been buying our paint supplies from Anilin for the past several years and have always wanted to go back and buy paints from this shop because of the personal and friendly service that we get from the owners and staff at this shop. Should also mention that we live in the northeast.

  Decent store and people. With all the new water based products it is a lot of trial and error and experimenting. I did get some Advanced paint for some cabinets and it sprays well and looks good but well after 30 days the paint can still be scratched off, i have been testing it on some throw away doors. It is an Alder wood with a topcoat finish, and the majority of the prep advice was to do scuff sanding prime and paint. I think the issue is with the primer, The store steered me away from what I wanted to the base lock primer. I have used it before on MDF trim and it was fine but it does not have enough adhesive power to stick to the less porous materials. I have switched to a primer that has stronger bonding agents and it seems to be doing the trick. I assumed I would have an issue with the paint and not the primer so i primed all my doors and then spent about 10 hours sanding the primer off. The Oil based products won't be around much longer so I guess a guy will have to eventually figure out the water based products.

  I literally visit this store every day, because they are by far the best paint supplier in Calgary. You should trust my word as a painting contractor, I've dealt with just about every paint store in the city over the past 7 years. I've seen all types of products, services, sales people, management's and techniques. Aniling Decorating is in a category of it's own and sets the standard for every paint store in the country to follow.
  
  Anilin has always delivered humbling, professional, speedy and friendly service with the best products in the industry. Every single one of my clients who has been there has commented they never knew a paint store could invigorate them in their projects like Anilin does. The family type approach of service leaves a smile on everyone's face.
  
  Little know fact that this 35 year + family owned business (the longest in Calgary) has set the trends by bringing in the latest and most technologically advanced products. I often find that the products they recommend aren't found in other paint stores until a few years later when they catch on. Usually by this point Anilin is ordering the next best thing.
  
  Also if you are ever in need of a colour match, this is the store to visit. They put that extra effort in to make them accurate at a rate of 99%
  
  I can only hope that my own reputation will be as solidified in Calgary as Anilin on my 35th year of business. I am sure to continue to visit every day until then.

  Very sweet experience! My favourite place to look at paint chips; the staff knows when to engage and answer questions, and when to let you take your own time. Benjamin Moore also has the easiest and most informative websites of the paint companies, so it's great to have a nice "real" store once you're ready to take the next steps when buying paint.
