The family is very welcoming there. The rooms are really nice and cozy there too. And you also have everything that you need in the kitchen to be able to prepare meals there. I have absolutely no complaints about this guesthouse. Highly recommended to stay at.
Great place. Rooms and common area are very clean, Kitchen has everything you need and the grocery store is only a block away. Owners are extremely nice and helpful. Would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend.
Very clean, peaceful and quiet and i will be staying there again every time i return
I absolutely loved staying here. The family just built and opened up the guest house over their own home. Everything is modern and looks great.
Maybe I'm a bit biased, because everything about the owner's family and lifestyle reminds me of my own, but I'm sure everyone would find them to be as welcoming as we did.
The shower in the shared bathroom has hot water. The shower is tiled and huge. You have towels, soap, and shampoo provided.
As stated before, it's still brand new as of February 2018, so everything is perfect.
The bedroom was very spacious. We got the king size bed and the room had more room than my wife and I needed. A small clothes rack/closet type enclosure, a bedside table with lamp, and full size mirror were provided.
The kitchen had a large dorm sized fridge, 4 burner gas stove with oven, sink, coffee maker, toaster, and a rice cooker. Dishes, utensils, a skillet and small roasting pot were there for our use, as well.
There is also a balcony that overlooks the highway and gives you a little view of the river. You can stretch out the hammock in the sitting area, or use the couch, love seat, and chair. We kept the screened windows open to take advantage of the everpresent breeze.
One of the Mayan sites is about a mile away, and another is about 6 miles away, at the edge of San Ignacio.
If you stay here, do yourself a favor and walk to Amy's restaurant for your evening meal or snack. It's only a couple hundred yards away, right before you get to the Chinese grocery. Her fresh tortillas are great. We also had empeñadas. We ordered 5 and got 15. I later realized that an order is three. Anyway, the 15 small empeñadas set me back a whole $2.50 US.
