I've very surprised to see the negative reviews on here. We did two ocean tours with Sonny last year and were very happy with our experiences! Sonny was very knowledgeable about the sealife we were seeing and made to point them out to us. They prepared us a delicious lunch from the conch we caught and we just had a great time. We plan to use them again when we return to Belize later this year.

If you’re looking for a posh experience, look elsewhere. They get the job done but they’re not going to pretend to be your best friend. Our snorkeling guides were informal (no instructions or directions about the dive, location, or what we may encounter) but they gave us plenty of time to explore on our own and were very diligent about finding us a sea turtle. Decent but not great.

I was shocked by the rudeness of this company when after seeing a particularly scathing and rude reply from them to an unhappy customer on another site, I thought I would be helpful and let them know that they could reply in a way that gave their point of view without coming off so rude and nasty, to that customer which looks really bad to anyone else looking to book with them (in no way saying the customer complained was right mind you). Also suggested something else that could benefit their business with tourists. But oh no, they weren't going to take any criticism of their anger and lashing out at that customer, they just attacked me viciously as well, saying "you are one of those travelers that we do NOT need in Belize". I would suggest staying far away from these people, they clearly haven't a clue about how to treat customers properly, so heaven forbid if you are unsatisfied with your tour.

I was very disappointed in this company. We understand that things happen and not everything is controllable, but Delavern lied to us, yelled at us, and refused to compensate us for a 1/2 of day trip that was missed due to her malfunctioning equipment. There was a mistake on her part when she misunderstood an email, and we were more than willing to shift our vacation around in order to remain with her company and go the adventures she promised. We were then placed in a van without working seatbelts for everyone, hurried down the river and not allowed to relax and enjoy the time, watch the boat mate eat our meal out of the container with his bare hands, not be allowed on most of the caye because of construction (not told to us at booking or before leaving), and then to be yelled at when we questioned the service. The two youngsters who took us fishing sure did try hard but the equipment was in poor shape and we spent more time fixing lures and reels than we did fishing. Instead of bringing bait, they had all of 3 lures and then cut up my son's first and only fish to use as bait. I have fished all over the world and I was looking forward to this trip with my sons; I was very disappointed. I suggest looking elsewhere for your Placencia adventures. Ocean Motion was not a good experience for us.
