Our family really enjoyed the ruins, the site and the guide, Willy. Willy was part of the excavation of 2 burial sites, and was responsible for sketching it out. One of the most exciting parts is that the grounds are only approximately 5% excavated as funds arrive, they continue. There is another big project scheduled for next year. We plan on returning frequently to see new finds.
A very historic Mayan site. Here you can see how the reconstruction takes place (what a job!) and some great background and insight into the culture of the time. The on-site guides are extremely knowledgeable, our one was actually part of the restoration process and knew everything. Well worth a visit for some great Stellae. It's medium sized place, so not many of the huge stepped pyramid structures that are found elsewhere, but it's settings gives a great idea of how these 'towns' might have been. Quite close to the Southern Highway, so not much of a detour if you are travelling down that road.
Nice stroll through the woods, but I was skeptical about the little bit of history they shared. And paint drippings on the "priceless artifacts?"
Guides were excellent but there are better Mayan Ruins to see in other countries. Good set of starter ruins.
First time visit for me. Very nice small museum. Hiking trails are in good shape but recent rain made for slippery conditions. As a Mayan devote I am glad I saw it even in the light rain. Some people commented just another run, but it is one of my passions. There are many different features among the Mayan City ruins.
Very interesting site, fairly newly discovered. The guides and staff were very knowledgeable and many actually worked to uncover the site.
Our tour guide Carlos was amazing. Great great trip.
Great way to see interesting Mayan ruinsunder the shade of beautiful trees.
Cruise excursion. Interesting smaller Mayan site. Several stellas to view, ball court, tombs. Great views of country side. Knowledgeable tour guide
Loved this excursion. Sailed NCL and choose this excursion. This was beautiful and educational
Our guide was very informative of the history and culture of the site
Nim Li Punit (means Big Hat), it is an important Mayan archaeological site known for its many stellae (similar to totem poles). It has a small museum and interpretive center with large stellae and translations of their inscriptions. Absolutely worth the trip. Try and schedule your excursion so as to avoid the cruiseship buses.
Beautiful ruins & area,great histiry
Very well done. Great tour guide and beautiful views.
Not one of the best but equally peaceful and historic.
I'm not sure how anyone can give this a bad review. Beautiful setting and multiple exposed ruins.
