Friendly, warm, welcoming, amazing food, clean and beautiful rooms, clean lovely beach, great pool and service. This place is fantastic and everyone should stay here! At least visit the bistro because the food and service are incredible. We loved our 6 nights in the hibiscus room

We did not stay at the Maya Beach Hotel but we visited the Bistro multiple times. This is the best restaurant in Maya Beach and possibly even Placencia. Staff are very friendly and accommodating (thanks Lisa) and food is outstanding. We went for breakfast, lunch and dinner and were impressed by the creative menus. Whatever we chose was outstanding every time. It is however recommended to reserve a table for dinner as it can be busy in the evening. Thank you very much Bistro team.

The beach is beautiful and well maintained. The bistro breakfast was great and fairly priced. Their dinner menu is pricey and not nearly as satisfying. If their dinner tasted as good as the menu descriptions made it sound, then it would have been an easy 5 stars. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful.

We had a ground level unit in what they call Flip Flop Palace. These are literally 25 feet from the water. The porch was nice to sit and watch the sunrise. We ran the AC a little bit as it was got in March. Food at the Bistro is great. Make sure to make a reservation for dinner if you want a table. Wifi is free and worked in our room but the speeds can be slow. There is not much within walking distance of the hotel.

The most relaxing hotel and bistro! Our lives in the States are pretty hectic, so once a year we travel to Belize to relax and rejuvenate. The staff are extremely polite, helpful and genuinely lovely people. We stay in the flip flop house (upper level) and it is spacious. The bed and sheets are very comfortable. The bathroom is clean and the shower is very warm after a brief wait. The internet works great. A cool breeze always seems to be blowing at night which makes the room temp perfect for sleeping, but the AC can be switched on for those muggier nights. The beach and ocean are just feet outside the door providing an ever calming atmosphere. The water is very warm and very calm in January-March when we typically visit. BUT my most favorite part of this dreamy getaway is the delicious bistro just yards away from our room. Literally everything on the menu is scrumptious. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and desert all wonderful and I often find myself craving their food at home, wishing we could come more than once a year.

Absolutely fantastic! Marlin at the front desk is awesome, the food is top notch, the Happy Hour specials are insanely good and cheap -$4US ceviche and $2US mixed drinks! The Creamsicle Studio was cozy but with its own pool and lounging area, so much for such a reasonable price!

Beautifully designed with guests in mind. Beach, deck, restaurants and rooms have great appeal. Service is friendly and personalised. Don't leave without one of their signature coconut muffins!

Great food and drinks, very friendly and attentive staff and great views to watch the moon rise over the calm waters of the ocean. It gets very busy during lunch and dinner times, so make sure you get there early to avoid having to wait for a table

Perfect experience. We had heard good things about both the hotel and the restaurant, and decided to drop by for a couple of days whilst in the Placencia area.
The staff is extremely helpful and friendly, the owners are so present and nice, and the place is wonderful.
All over Belize, you can find articles about the food served at the restaurant, and how good it is. They are not exaggerated; it was the best meal we had in the entire country.

My friend and I stayed two nights at this hotel. Amazing place, the staff was awesome and fun, the manager Marlon was always helpful and very sweet. Our room had a kitchen, hot showers and super comfy bed. The food was amazing. The drinks were strong and tasty. Beautiful beach with kayaks and snorkeling. Local store up the road for anything extra you need. And the best part, there was a local woman named Izabel who sold handmade jewelry, headbands, and other beautiful things right on the beach. We had drinks and lunch with her while she taught us the Quiche Mayan language. I will definitely be back one day! Thanks for everything Maya Beach staff!

The best vacation I have EVER taken. The staff at Maya Beach Hotel and Bistro are incredible. They anticipate your every need and fill it with a smile. We got upgraded for free to a nicer room and had the best time. The food was absolutely amazing- tried almost every single thing on the menu and was never disappointed. I will 100% be going back to Maya Beach Hotel!

One of the best Hotels I've been to in a long time.
Hotel: Nice clean rooms with all the amenities you expect in a standard hotel. The bonus was that my room was on the beach. I step out of my room onto the sand !!

Restaurant: The entire population of Placencia comes to eat here because of the awesome food. They are vegetarian friendly. They even catered to my erratic requests to substitute one ingredient for another. The Pumpkin Green Chili Coconut Soup is the best thing you will ever have. They served a creamy butter with bread on Christmas night which was really yummy. My suggestion, please serve it every day. Make sure to reserve your table well in advance.

People: The people working here are all really helpful. Marlon does not sleep. You will probably find him at the front desk 24/7. He helped me out with scheduling tours and answer any questions I had during my stay. The restaurant staff are all very cheerful.

If I return to Belize, this is where I would be staying.
P.S. If you guys read this review, can you please send me the recipe for the pumpkin-green chili-coconut soup with the cilantro toast? :-)

Answered all questions and concerns I had, without any hesitation. I didn't have service going out there, but they gave me a detailed description on exactly where to go. We arrived late but they still kept kitchen open for us! Everything was clean and in great working condition. House keeping was great, the people at the restaurant were very nice, and the concierge was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Whether they set up a day trip for you, or you spend the entire day with a relaxing view of the beach, it'll be everything you want/need in a vacation!!!!!

the Flip Flop Palace has had a complete facelift, the four units are just great complete full size kitchens for a longer stays. The beds are so comfortable this our go to place to stay in Placencia, we have stayed here numerous times and have a great time here. The food at the Bistro is second to none if you are there for brekky then try the Cinnamon Bun French toast or the Duck Sausage Hash, if you are there for dinner try the double thick Cacao Pork Chop, everything tastes so good here, they also have daily specials which are always good ..

Pretty beach and pier. Restaurant is good. Hotel accommodations might include a scorpion in your bedding (as it did with us). Shower was kind of mungy.

We went here for lunch and the place was AWESOME!!! Great menu and food on top of A1 service. The price was very affordable and you can't beat their view. Highly recommend getting at least one meal here.

I just extended my stay at this lovely place. The staff, the food, the large rooms (and AIR CONDITIONING)! It's all perfect. If I could, I'd stay forever. Belize is a friendly place, but I've never felt more welcome than I did here. and I know I mentioned the food, but it's the best I've had in Placencia (even better than Turtle Inn!)
