We stayed there and had our wedding on the beach. We had a large group of friends and family with us who all stayed in different Villas. The Villas were really nice and the staff was very friendly and accommodating to all of our needs. I would recommend La Perla Del Caribe do anybody who is wanting a nice relaxing stay on Ambergris Caye.

A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure to spend some days at the la Perla resort in San Pedro.
I absolutely loved it. What a breath of fresh air! Finally a place that felt Caribbean. I try to stay away from resorts that look like a Las Vegas hotel. In many Caribbean countries you start to see this trend. Making the typical bohemian colourfull Caribbean vibe disappear. Not in this place though. White beaches, lovely houses, hammocks, turcoise waters. The place was all peace and love . Sometimes we didn't feel like clocking in our villa so we took a 5 minute walk along the beach to have dinner at the lovely restaurant of the Matachica resort! Fresh fish or delicious lobster. In the daytime we chilled on the beach or just stayed in the hammock under the umbrella of the pier . Another day we took a small boat who took us to the village of San Pedro. A lovely mix of foreigners and locals. A bit of Rasta here and and there. Absolutely loved it!
The highlight of my trip was a snorkel tour on the reefs. Swimming between the reefsharks is something I'll never forget.
