Good fire grilled food, somewhat limited menu in my mind. It was a recommended place to eat at so we gave it a try. Once we found it I was surprised it was more of an outdoors patio type place, not a walk in resturant. The food had great taste, staff was very good.

It’s a dirt floor, away from the beach, and has absolutely absurd prices! You can eat on the beach for the same or actually less. I was getting bit up by fleas or mosquitos. It was very uncomfortable sitting at the table and then feeling the bites on your foot. It’s also hot because there is an oven near the eating area. We ordered chicken stew and then the server came back and sorry we don’t have any. It was 6:00pm. Really? We decided to pay for the drinks and leave to go somewhere else. Don’t go here!

Delicious food and great atmosphere! The owner served us and was nice to visit with. I had the Belkin fried chicken which was full of flavor and moist, my husband had the stewed beef which was also delicious! Highly recommend!

Missed this local place our first time on Ambergris Caye. Thank you Ron and Ashner for directing us here. You were so right about the conch fritters, so delicious. We had the waiter laughing when I told him you said we could smack him because being so good! Loved my pork stew and my husbands amazing whole fish set on creole sauce- perfectly done.

All locals recommend a visit here and it's good authentic Belize food, but it's not an absolute must in my opinion. I had a late special which came with its own appetizer, it was good, can't knock it much but I don't think it was a wow.
Don't think I'd call it great value either.

Food just ok, restaurant noisy and stinky from street noise and golf cart fumes. Food average, expected much more from the cooked outside over hearth hype. Extremely pricey for the quality. Beware the specials with no price on the chalk board. Shame on us for not askingmuch higher than regular menu ..just fried fish but give you soup too and charge 44 Belize dollars. I woudnt recommend. You can spend same amount and eat on the beach which we will be doing for the rest of our trip.

Conch fritters and fishballs were excellent. Mojito was just ok. Didn't try a main. Menu is a little pricey

Good food , even better service, the wait can be very long , definitely recommend to have a drink at the bar while you wait. Pricing is on the higher side but if you are looking for a nice time this would be one of the fancier places to go on the island.

Traditional Belizean dishes. Their stews are very good. The curry dishes are too salty and disappointing. The staff is super nice. And check out their restrooms for the local decor.

Although it is not on the beach, the atmosphere was very welcoming, as was the staff!! And the food was exquisite!!!!! Pan seared snapper was amazing and the shrimp creole was fabulous. Started with crab soup which was one of the best seafood soups I have in a long time!

Well we read wonderful reviews of this place but oh my service is terrible place smells like rotten fish my husband ordered cevehie for an app.sad to say they gave him a bowl of vingar.😐 we ordered main dish and it took never ever for our food to arrive ofter 35mins or so and another table sat down after we arrived was served ate and was departing so we asked another server to get our bill for the drinks and cevehie cause our server never came back. We had to get up go to the cashier But the worst thing is the owner She was there and didn't even show any kind of sympathy of any sort. And did not care that we was not attended to. Never again bad El Fogon.

Went here for lunch. Wasn't sure what to expect honestly, kind of a local hangout. Kind of hidden behind an old fence, nothing to fancy, might not attract the eyes of a tourist but WOW!
Hidden treasure! Food was exceptional. Local cuisine. Great service! Would absolutely go back every day if I could!

Hubs and I were looking for a snack-meal and shared the best ever beef stew here, super tender and flavorful. The rice and beans were dry though. But the beef was 100% worth it.

Am I on an island in the Caribbean right now? The server was incredible. He was quick and walked us through some of the specialities. We had the salbutes and will probably crave them for as long as we're alive. Definitely put an order in for them immediately. The rest of the food was good; seriously though, get the salbutes -- they're all that matter.
