We have rented from them twice this year. In January for 7 days and in October for 7 days. Both times the service was great. The car was clean but not new like we are used to in the US. But
this isn't the US. For being in a small country the car was perfect, ran well and a did the job that I needed. The people were friendly, knowledgeable and easy to work with. They spoke English as do most people in Belize. I will definitely use them the next time I am in Belize which will be often.

I give them a 5 star because my husband and I received 5 start treatment. They were very courteous, polite, and professional. They made the whole process easy. They explained everything in detail and what to do. We rented our vehicle from Philip Goldson Highway and not at the airport. We will definitely be renting a vehicle from them when we visit Belize again. Because of the rental, it made our stay better. Thank you all for everything.

Originally reserved a Toyota 4runner and received an old jeep commander w 100k mi. Not a few extra charges. Charged for chip window protection & car had a lot of chips in the window, and a random $30 charge. Ran hard had weird noise. I would not recommend. In the end it made it every where we drove and the people at the front desk are friendly and seemed to care. Definitely would recommend driving in Belize. Maybe try a different rental agency. Easy and cheaper than shuttles.

The rental process seems to take forever. They gave us a car with a bad tire. We got a flat and had to rush to the nearest rental place to get a different car before they closed. So our trip got cut short.
They didn't scan our new paperwork on the new car. So when we returned it, they tried to charge us for dings , dents, damage we didn't do. Luckily my husband took video of the car with the other agency before we signed and left.

Get your video of all the damage on/in the car people.

We rented here vs Avis as it was about 1/2 the price ($220 for 5 days). We got a Dodge Avenger w 95k miles. It was beat up but got the job done, no issues on the trip down to Placencia. ~40 min wait to pickup, but was nice to have the car onsite at the airport (no shuttle w rental companies). Started rental w a little more than half a tank. Fill up before heading away from Belize City as the cost of fuel goes up.

AQ BELIZE AUTO

This place is a SCAM!!!!!! We went into the airport location to rent a car when we arrived. They rented us out a small vehicle that was about an inch off the ground. The man who walked the vehicle with us told us to ignore the “check engine” light because that was due to other things. They advised us to stay off certain roads , so we made it a point to stay on the main roads only. They specifically asked us where we were going, and I wrote down the resort we were staying at. No problem. The following day, we drove up the road to our resort when our car stopped working.On inspecting the vehicle, we realized it was leaking oil. Which, if we had hit something, there would be damage to the actual car, and there was not! They were kind enough to bring us a new vehicle in a few hours. The mechanic and employee agreed the roads were fine, and were unsure what happened.they sat down and even drank a beer with us prior to leaving. Then Upon returning our car, we were hit with a $3000 bill for the vehicle. AND If we did not pay they were pressing charges against us immediately. Needless to say, we spent 4 miserable hours at this place trying to find a solution. They took advantage of naive tourist, who are unfamiliar with their roads etc. The biggest problem was, they started making assumptions before even talking to us.we walked in the door and were IMMEDIATELY attacked with accusations and charges. They even got the owner on the phone to threaten us with jail time. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. And yes, we had to pay to avoid being arrested. I would Recommend going to a recognized and reputable company to avoid the headache. We absolutely loved The country of Belize, and the worst part of this entire trip was dealing with this company !

We rented for 10 days in February. Best price we could find. We were given an older Chevy Equinox. The pluses are the car started and ran well and gave good gas mileage. The negatives are the right front headlight was out, the gas gauge was flaky, sometimes reading totally empty, sometimes over full, other times somewhere in between. Also the power door locks didn't work. The staff was friendly, but stressed, one gal to handle all the folks coming to them off the plane, she definitely needed another clerk.

Our vehicle reeked of mildew and leaked when it rained. On multiple occasions our vehicle wouldn't start and my family and I were left stranded. When I informed the 24-7 hotline no initial help we given and we were not responded to by the manager for over 4 days. I do not recommend this place, if you wish to have bad customer service, slow response time, poor running vehicle (an econoline van in our case), or sub par rental service, pay at your own risk!

Great service. The vehicles they rent are old but in good condition. We had issues with the air-conditioning, we returned and they gave us another vehicle without any fuss. They provide you with a cell phone so you can call them anytime, which we did when the air-conditioning wasn't working. Highly recommend.

spectacular service!!!!! there is NO ONE better. they are located right at the airport and help provide yo transport to/from the water taxi is needed.

Car was just as pictured, very quick response to any questions, received a complimentary phone and they exceeded my expectations with their friendliness and helpfulness. don't bother booking with anyone else.

They are the BEST!

BUYERS BEWARE! Not only with this company steal and sell all your personal info, after they have collected all your passport drivers licence and credit card info they will lie and give you a car with problems so that you have to pay the insurance deductible for it. I have videos of the cars that they gave us which had many problems out side of all the roaches, blown speakers, no cadillac converters, locks not working properly and oh and they may have even stolen the damn car it self because the alarms sounded every time we opened them. Once I have posted the video on YouTube I will add the link. I would be so careful and I would never tell anyone to use this company ever. Pedro you a terrible person and you will pay for you dirty business.

Made reservations in the states and customer service was fast and friendly. Sent an email to make sure that I had reservation. So far so good. Got to car rental place at airport and everything was fine. Then the vehicle that I was promised "was no longer available." I actually didn't have a problem with them getting me something comparable to drive. Well, they rolled up this piece of crap Nissan AWD that was older than hell! What worse was I was ready to take it because again, as long as I have a vehicle and they can guarantee it, I'm fine. I inspected the vehicle and it was old. So old that the door would not work getting in or out on the passenger side. This was the last straw, so I went inside to ask for another vehicle. The lady was nice, but said I had to take it to the main office to exchange it. (Please keep in mind that I had a family of four that just got off a plane that flew from LAX over night to fly to Belize City for a morning arrival. Not really in the mood to exchange vehicles, but sometimes thats the way it goes.) Get to the main office and they have a hard time getting us a vehicle that is awd as we were promised, so we can explore Belize. After an hour, they get a vehicle that is not bad, but old (87,000 + miles). Everything checked out and we take off. Start to drive down road and as soon as we get over 45 miles an hour the heater kicks in and AC shuts off. Was not going to turn back half way to Placencia, so we park vehicle the entire trip at our final destination because AC doesn't work. Drove vehicle back when it was due and thats when I decided that I was going to write this review. no one said "Hello, ho was your vehicle etc." I asked to speak to manager and employee would not let me see them. I could only complain to employee. Not one apology, reduction of rate or anything! Thus why I decided to write this long review. DO NOT USE THEM! NOT WORTH IT. USE A MAJOR CAR RENTAL COMPANY. NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO GO THROUGH THIS MUCH LESS ONE'S FAMILY. THIS IS NOT A JOKE OR SOMEONE TRYING TO GET OVER. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH THIS RENTAL PLACE. We can totally recommend this car rental, they were very responsive, absolutely no problem with the car or service. They even let us park at their place and drop us at the water taxi when going to Caye Caulker and the same on the way back for free! That was really appreciated. So definately thumbs up!

AQ Belize Rental Car Company offers large variety of vehicles at very affordable prices for all their customers. They provides with hassle free facility to book a vehicle online in very less time. I had an SUV from them in this year three times and i am honoured to say that their vehicles are in very good condition and moreover, their customer service is excellent. AQ Belize started out as an awesome company. They picked us up at the San Pedro/Belize City docks which was super helpful because we didn't need to grab a taxi. They were really easy to work with the price was great. The problems started when we got back to the states and they didn't refund our deposit. We took the car back and there were no problems with it. They said they would release the deposit in 7-10 business days. We were concerned because it's kind of a lot of money for a deposit, but we rented the car non-the-less. It's been well over a month and still no return of our deposit. We called them multiple times and they claimed that the deposit was released and it was the credit card company holding our money. We called the credit card company and they said AQ Belize charged our card for the deposit, which AQ Belize claimed that there would be no charge, just a hold. Now we are doing a run around trying to get our deposit back. Over-all this company started out great but this hassle with the deposit totally turned us off. There was nothing wrong with the car and I feel like they are trying to take advantage of us and not returning our deposit. Just be careful when you rent with them and follow-up immediately after you return the car.
