  Carvella is a simple, quaint restaurant. The food is good, I loved the of flaming chorizo and pork chops.

  What a disappointment. I ordered the seafood platter for 2, P565 later, what I got was a lot of blandish rice, 2 tiny crayfish tails, 10 small prawns, 12 prawn heads, calamari that was bland & not cooked very well. A warm bottle of red wine close to P500, bread with no butter, garlic butter with no garlic. A waitress that didn't know anything about the Valentine's specials, didn't bother to offer this. Only good thing, the 1920, in conach glass, but weak espresso coffee. So not a memorable evening at all. Bill came to P1800 for 2 couples.

  I had a great experience at Caravela this Tuesday when I was there with a group of 8 people for dinner celebrating a birthday. The wait staff were all very helpful and friendly and always attentive, as was the owner who was present and helping as well.
  I ordered the food for everyone and basically just ordered everything that the waitress told me was on the menu special that night- which was mostly seafood. It was all fresh and Delicious and the best meal that I've had in a while.
  Highly recommended-and I highly suggest to order the specials for the evening because I think it means that it will be extra fresh with special attention paid to it during the preparations.

  Not sure( looking at other reviews) why we had such a poor experience as we did.. Not one but two hovering waiters, too close to our table..a clam soup starter that was more shell than clam meat and the overcooked that disappeared into a bland tomato sauce, fish dish was questionable making our entire dining experience overall not happy. Not to mention the pricing is on a higher tier.
  The ambience was not enough to make our dinner a Portuguese experience that was worth it.
  The most enjoyable, perhaps, was the presentation and the house brand chilli sauce accompaniment served in an ice cream bowl.

  You should definitely give it a try when in Gaborone. Great food, everything is freshly made. They even buy salmon directly from Norway! The staff is very nice and polite. Superb service!

  Absolutely a top restaurant in town known for its outstanding meat options. Parking is not a problem. Finding the place can be a challenge, so Google maps comes in handy. Booking a table is recommended.
