Love the placeit's a great site to visit
The Rand Nature Center is a must, when you visit Freeport Grand Bahama. You can spend time viewing beautiful plants and trees that is indigenous to the Island. You can purchase souvenirs, take a tour or relax on benches that is provided. The last Saturday of each month, you will find locals selling local products, such as arts and crafts, fruits, vegetables, jams, freshly squeezed cane juice and so much more.
What's the first thing you get when in Freeport?
Great way to spend an afternoon
It's oksy
Hot, no wildlife, some vegetation mark. Ok place to see island's natural side. Attendants were standoffish and not very engaging. It is worth stopping in if you are driving by, not really worth a special trip.
I love it

Very pleasant local botanical garden. My most enjoyable activity in 4 days in Freeport, after disembarking from a liveaboard dive boat / swim with dolphins.
The only reason I do not give it 5 stars is that it is obviously a bit worn, from hurricanes and funding challenges. I suppose that even if it were not worn, it would not be as fancy as, say, Kew Gardens.
But nevertheless: I long ago realized that I enjoyed visiting botanical gardens more than many other tourist activities. And I very much enjoyed the Rand Nature Center. My 15 year old daughter prowled around, identifying and photographing plants.
