Beautiful ,secluded and a great place to relax
My family had a wonderful time at Old Bahama Bay! We had a boat slip and rented a pool view room (which actually had a pool and ocean view). Very nice accommodations - the rooms are large. The staff from the hotel, restaurants, shops, and marina are all friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back and I would recommend this place to anyone going to West End or needing to clear customs before going to other islands. I did see some reviews that mentioned the no-seeums - we only had an issue with them on our patio but were prepared with skinsations. This place is one of the best on the island!
Nice people great view
Great seeing you there
This is a great place
Entire place is rat infested.
This resort is a treasure! Harold runs the show and is the nicest and most hospitable host. We love this hidden gem.
Our family of four stayed here the week after Easter. Our boat was on the hard for repairs so we booked into the hotel here last minute. I signed on for nine days and they gave me a more than fair price.
It was one of the nicest hotel rooms we’ve ever stayed in! The people at the officer were terrific! The beach was beautiful. The kids rode bikes and we all enjoyed the pool, beach and waterside activities. My daughter had her hair braided at the mini-straw market. All these things rated five stars.
BUT… the beachfront restaurant had a limited menu and closed too early. The main restaurant was only open from 5PM to 9PM and when they closed… they closed. There was no hanging around to have a last drink. The main restaurant has a very, very limited menu. No steak. Most items are fried. They had a blackened seafood choice but were out of it the two times we tried. The kid’s wouldn’t eat the frozen burger patties and found the pizza hopeless. We ate in the main restaurant four evenings while there and each time had terrible service. Other diners got up and left on several occasions due to the poor service. We had a hard time getting drinks and they had no desserts twice while we were there. Their entire food/restaurant/bar program is a terrible matter (you can only drink in the bar in the dining room while the restaurant is open). No resort anywhere closes their restaurant and bar at 9PM and asks customers to leave. There was just nowhere else to go!
There’s another issue about the distance to civilization. We anticipated this problem and fortunately had a rental car for our daily trips. The only other issues were lack of ice (can only get it from the main restaurant when they’re open and if they have extra), and the very limited selection of items in their shop (keeping in mind the closest store is almost twelve miles away). I’ve never stayed anywhere that ice wasn’t available to guests.
We might go back in a few years if they get their act together. Again, the hotel was terrific; the restaurants were a disaster.
