This trip was part of Norwegian Sky Cruise (NCL). The Island is very nice and private. The beach area very clear and inviting. This is relaxing and romantic at the same time. The staff provided lunch and of course drinks all inclusive. There are other excursions to choose from while enjoying your day here. Loved it and would do it again ❤❤❤❤

I'm NOT a BIG fan of Norwegian cruise line or atleast NOT on the epic. But this private island was wonderful. Beautiful beach, clear water great swimming, snorkeling and sun bathing. All the lounge chairs and food on island was complimentary (included in cruise fare). The food quality was like that off buffer of Norwegian epic.

Beautiful island! I love how NCL takes care of its customers on their island. You can use the unlimited beverage package the entire day. They also provide complimentary food! There are plenty of beach lounge chairs and the water is so pretty.

To be honest with everyone this was the part of the trip I looked forward least to.but it turned out to be my favorite part of the 7 day cruise We were whisked away on a private boat from our ship (after all the early maniacs did of course!) and we spent idyllic several hours on the island. We had an amazing time having our BBQ lunch and unlimited drinks (if u had a prepaid package with NCL that is) So suite yourself and DO NOT leave early, you're going to have to wait on line for an hour or so to get on the boat!. But otherwise everything was peachy!

Great Stirrup Cay, a beach in the Bahamas, is very relaxing and fun. Plenty of beach area to get sun, drink, eat and hangout. Kept clean with easy access to restrooms.
The water is great for snorkeling, plenty of fish and rocky alcoves to explore. I enjoyed the yoga groupies class before swimming in the warm salt water. The food kiosks are close by the beach areas, nothing special, and but have plenty to drink.
There is a DJ near the largest beach. The party gets going loud in the early afternoon.
If you walk a bit further from the dock, than the first large beach area, you will find a few smaller areas with lounge chairs that are much quieter.
After some time at sea, relax and enjoy a Bahamas Beach on Great Stirrup Cay.response / report this review -

I hated the food but loved the experience. My favorite part was snorkeling. I saw so many cool fish and animals. I even saw a huge sea turtle! It was a very exciting new experience for me, and I had so much fun there

This beach is great! NCL really keeps the area up. It's a little rocky, but the water is beautiful, and you can see clear down to the bottom. There were plenty of open loungers further down the beach. The whole place had a great vibe. We only wished they had a pool.

Great port by NCL!!!
Super relaxing and clean. Never felt overcrowded and the snorkeling is pretty good. I strongly recommend renting a clamshell which will help keep your "stuff" out of the way and makes it feel a bit more private.response / report this review -

I enjoyed our stop at Great Stirrup Cat. The island is kept clean and the beach area is very nice. They served an excellent BBQ lunch. Hubby and I snorkeled off the beach and saw various sea life. They have an underwater sculpture garden set up that makes snorkeling even more interesting.

Absolutely beautiful! Our jet skiing tour and guides were fantastic! The entire island was so clean and well maintained. The beach is awesome. All staff provided exquisite hospitality. If you cruise Norwegian Breakaway you'll experience Great Stirrup Cay

Beautiful Island opened by Norwegian. Spent the day in a cabana with friends. Receive a $50 food credit for chips & salsa, cheeses and crackers, etc, which were replenished during the day. There was also a bar b que provided by Norwegian and the open bar was extended to the island bar. Beautiful water, calm and clear. Servers brought your drinks to you at the cabana throughout the day

Not a fan of Norwegian Cruise lines.
Paid for 4 day 3 night cruise.
First port was Nassua, Bahamas (nothing but harassment when,your on land)
Great Stirrup Cays Never ported. But the ship behind us did.
Been wondering around sea (in circles) and will be 5 hours early because there were 35 mph winds. How did the other ship shuddle their people, but we were left high and dry???

Norweigan has done a nice job developing this island into a beautiful experience. The views are gorgeous of the ocean and beach. The private cabana beach was much less crowded. It was nice having wait staff bringing drinks all day long. And the never ending chips and 3 types of salsa hit the spot as well as the frig and chilled water bottles. The sushi tray was absolutely delicous. It was just a lovely day.

If you like basically lounging on a rock with sub par beaches. The place is under construction which doesn't make for a nice view or experience but they do offer the same conveniences as on the ship; booze and food

It was nice for a beach day. However, you have to tender to get to and from the ship. The beach gets crowded and the food served was average.

When I went there was lots of construction, you saw lots of industrial machinery which kills the beauty of this possible paradise. I did have a lot of fun snorkeling.

Beautiful beach, lots of shade to escape the sun if you want. Rafts are only $15 to rent fo rec the day. Also you can rent snorkeling stuff and a guide will take you snorkeling. I brought my own and just snorkled around on the beach. Other excursions to do too. Wonderful island!

The island was amazing. The water and weather was beautiful. My wife and I did the "1.5 hr wave runner tour" which was actually 45 minutes on the water and 45 minutes of a video, walk, and going over arm signals you will not use.
We were also told that our personal items would be safe and secure and locked up while we were on the water. So when the "tour" was over my wife went into her wallet, that she secured in the locker by the employees, to give money as a tip and noticed that 4 $20 bills were missing. We reported to security and we know we would never see that money again but wanted everyone to be aware of it.
This review is that of the wave runner tour people and not Norwegian Cruise Line, although Norwegian employees them I think they should take a hard look at the people there.response / report this review -

Best part of our Norwegian cruise. It is a beautiful island - a little rocky in parts. Would have loved to have been able to bike around the island or visit the lighthouse.
