Lovely airport. Nicely layout, easy to get around without asking anyone questions.
Nice new international airport. Lots of restaurants and shops on departures once you pass through security and customs. Not much of a hassle going through security and customs, both departing or arriving. On arrival (at least on Saturdays) you are greeted by a 3pc band playing island music. Just a few steps away from the main international building is the domestic airport building which handles traffic to outlying islands. It's a much smaller facility with a lesser quantity of shops and restaurants. All in all it's a nice clean, safe environment.
Its good to travel there on a business run they have free refreshments!
Fantastic didnt have to wait long for our flights alot of great shops reasonably priced and clean
A nice little airport. Walking through immigrations was no problem at all. A nice little selection of stores and Restaurants to choose from while you are waiting for your flight.
Good experience with customs and nice look and great vendors overall good airport.
Beware: Bahamas immigration officers at Lynden Pindling are NOT properly trained to understand US extension visas (OPT). Absolute incompetence on behalf of Bahamas immigration staff and supervisors who (mistakenly) decided that I would be unable to re-enter the US with my travel documents and thus could not be allowed into the Bahamas. Guess where I am now? In the US, as I am rightfully allowed to be. TEACH YOUR OFFICERS HOW TO INTERPRET US EXTENSION VISAS-- AND ALL VISAS FOR THAT MATTER. It's part of the job description, right?
All in all, a surprisingly great airport, especially for a country with the population size of the Bahamas. We love to come home to our new airport. It puts the old one to shame and offers a surprisingly decent selection of shops and restaurants these days. Well run.
since its remodel, this is a beautiful small airport within Nassau. Very cozy and very welcoming. In departures, you will find a handful of stores to purchase gifts and food from.
Great modern airport to accommodate the heavy flow of travelers coming daily.
Very nice airport. Very good food options, very clean and comfortable. Enjoyed the 3-man band when we arrived welcoming us. Trying to fly back home I had to show my passport five times which was a little over-the-top. But they still get five stars.
For an airport in a very tourist destination it should be way better. We spent almost 2 hours w/ a 10-month old kid on the line for screening before boarding. There were 5 stations but only 2 working. An officer who the only job was to say to turn your phones off or he would confiscate meanwhile lots of people skipping the lines and he did nothing. Terrible experience. Left the island needing another vacation after this experience. Only good thing is the US customs right there before boarding.
Nicely laid out, easy to navigate airport with well-maintained grounds. Mostly kind folks, with better than average baggage, arrival, and security throughput except if Nassau is your final destination. In that case, the passport checkin line can be quite slow. Tip: if you have connecting flights, be sure to notice the short line designated for that purpose!
People in the migration office is not very friendly and ask a lot of details of your trip if you go alone, I recommend If you go to work or business, mention you go on vacations instead, otherwise you will have to pay around 700 USD monthly.
Lines for check-in and security are not bad depending on the times of day. There is basically no food to eat after security by 7PM. All restaurants closed and even the Dunkin Donuts not serving sandwiches. Eat before security at the Wendy's if you're hungry.
Physically a nicer airport than our departure -- Ft Lauderdale. My major beef is with passport control. We stood in line for nearly 90 minutes. I'm a seasoned international traveler and that was a record for me -- by a substantial sum. Obviously there are peak times, days And officers can only work so fast. So either force airlines to stagger arrival times or install more booths to house more officers to process visitors faster. Not a positive first impression.
Clean, well organized and you pass thru US customs there before departing.
Nice, clean Caribbean airport. Check-in terminal has some really nice, modern design. Once inside, bottles of water can be pricey, so look for a deal! $2 :)
