  This park is far from Marsh Harbour about 1 hour south so consider where you are staying if even slightly considering it.  Regardless unless you absolutely must hike don't spend your time here for so little payoff.  A few notes.  First, it is off the road so you won't get anywhere quick (traveling about 5 mph over bumpy road).  Second, this is not like United States National Parks, as in the trails or roads here aren't marked well or kept up.  We actually stopped a local driving the other way asking if we were in the park and if there were any trails. They responded we already were in it and there aren't many trails. If you don't know you're in the park that's a bad sign. Third, there is no real summit or site to see.  It was hiking through a pine forest.  We did not see any wildlife (the famed parrots) and were disappointed.  It's hard to even know where the trail(s) begin.  We drove for about 15 minutes in the park and it was not much to see.  We missed the Parrot Ridge "Trail" the first time we drove past it, and even when on this trail there is no summit per se.  I'm an avid hiker, but I wouldn't recommend this place when it's so far out of the way. I guess there's a beach and fishing at the end of the park but it will probably take an hour to drive it once you enter the park because of the roads. Abaco is great but not so sure about this place. Maybe the lighthouse is nicer but we didn't make it that far.

  Hole-in-the-Wall Lighthouse. Fantastic views, historic interest, "off the beaten path." No facilities. Really! No facilities. Pack lunch, etc. Sturdy footwear to walk to Hole/Gap-in-the-Wall. Lighthouse & grounds in disrepair & overgrown. Lighthouse is "locked" - enter at your own risk.

  This is not somewhere you would take a car, to get the full experience one must drive an truck or and SUV. Remember this is the out doors, don't expect a 5 star hotel. The wild life is amazing. Endemic species sucg as the Bahama parrot and Bahama Swallow are worth the trip. Not to mention some of the most health pine forest on the island.

  Road in very bad shape. Should use SUV or truck with ground clearance. Will take close to two hours from highway. We didn't get far past turnoff.
