Not the newest or most modern hostel but that just adds to its charm. Cannot be beat for energy and socialising. Always something going on, always staff ready to help, always ways to enhance your Rio experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at books hostel. Fillippe was outstanding as the owner as he was extremely helpful and booked trips for us. Ross and Megan behind the bar were also fantastic at getting the crowd mixing and I would 100% recommend staying here if it is your first time in Rio / South America!

Great party hostel. Staff were really nice and breakfast was good too. First room I stayed in wasn't very clean but this isn't the place to stay if you're looking for luxury.

Absolutely banging party hostel. Stay here if you want a 24/7 house party. If not then it probably isn't for you. Very lively. Walked in on a couple going at it.

If you go to Rio and do not stay at this lovely Hostel in the artists' mecca that is Santa Teresa, you are doing yourself a serious disservice.
