  The zoo used to be so small but now you can really see that people are taking care of it.
  
  Animals look well treated, it is a great place to meet the local fauna and have a great time with kids. If you are planning to go don't forget your sun block and umbrella.
  
  The zoo is little but really nice, you can take your own meal and have a picnic inside. Price is really low, 5$ I think :)

  Five stars compared to other things to do in Santa Cruz, nice to go with kids and explain why animals are there and not in the jungle. Well taken care, not at the US level but pretty good.

  It is a great and fun zoo, near the center for Santa Cruz. Many animals and roads to go to.

  I really enjoyed seeing many endemic avian species. I was particularly interested in Ara rubrogenys as I keep them as pets in US.

  Any urban zoo is going to have its share of issues containing animals that should be in the wild. But overall it was a pleasant experience visiting this zoo. Plan on spending 1/2 a day to see everything without rushing.
