  The bus looks nothing like in the picture. It's a janky, dirty bus with no bathroom or cama beds. The sound the engine made when it was isle sounded like a mangy street cat on its last legs purring. The ride felt like a broken swing set and was about as squeaky. On the plus side it was only 20 BOB. Also ALL the busses from Copacabana to La Paz in the morning looked about as trashy.

  They lie about the travel! We paid 200bob each tho reach arequipa, going to the border with a minivan and then with Civa (which is a serious reliable company). At the booking they even called civa to book the seat but I suspect they were just pretending.
  At the border it turned out that civa wasn't departing that day and, of course, they didn't receive any call. The vicuña representative told us that the bus had been unexpectedly cancelled which wasn't true. They didn't expect me to go to civa and ask for the truth. I discovered that that day there normally wouldn't be a bus. So I complained so much, so much with the vicuña representative that at the end she put us on a civa to lima that exceptionally stopped at arequipa (vicuña as trying to put us on a dodgy bus). Of course it's not civa's fault. They have been amazing with us.
  Stay away from this company!!!

  Had a horrible experience with this company.
  
  After doing the research online and compared against various bus companies, I thought Vicuña Travel would be one of those more reliable ones but I came away disappointed for the trip from La Paz to Lima.
  
  First of all, they did not inform me ahead of time that the leg from La Paz to the Bolivian/Peruvian border would be on a minibus instead of the coach they advertised. That was 2 hours of the trip in uncomfortable seat.
  
  Second, only when we cleared custom and entered the Peruvian border we found out they didn't reserve the 4 cama seats as requested. Turns out Vicuña Travel outsources the from Peruvian border to Lima to a bus company called Civa. The woman from Vicuña Travel happily received the money from us but didn't bother to reserve the seats. When we showed up at Civa, the people said it's not their fault the requested seats are unavailable. When we questioned about possible solutions from the representative at Vicuña Travel, she had ZERO ownership over the issue and said it's the only bus to Lima available (I.e. Take it or leave it).
  
  It seems that their customer strategy is to lure customers to pay, then outsource service to someone else. If things turn bad, they feel no responsibility whatsoever and forced the customers to take the lesser option as that is the only option available.

  AVOID! Completely lied about our travel arrangements. Offered direct full bed bus from La Paz to Arequipa, for 200 bolivianos (another lady paid 220!). Instead they put us in an old combi bus with broken suspension up to the border, then just gave us tickets worth 50 bolivianos for the cheapest regular bus that stopped at Puno and Juliaca! When questioned the lady travelling with us to transferring us at the border with us just smirked and said 'it's Bolivia, what did you expect?' An embarrassment to Bolivia, use another company or just arrange yourself for less that half the price! AVOID!
