This has been the higlights of Sucre thus far. Definitely do the tour if you want to learn about Bolivian history particularly related to it's independence. The guide was very knowledgeable and the tour is included with entry.

Had a great time on the English tour today learning about the birthplace of Bolivia. Our guide, Mary, was very knowledgable and answered many questions asked by the group. Amazing you can get up close to artefacts and paintings hundreds of years old, the Act of Independence and a copy of the constitution written in stone!

Sucre is a beautiful place, and is the judicial branch of Bolivia. There are a lot of Spanish Colonial buildings. The city sits on top of the Andes Mountains.

The chapel was the meeting hall where Bolivian independence was declared on 25 May 1825. A must visit place.

Historical and a must visit place in Sucre. Not signs in English so a guided tour is highly recommended. It's included in the price. Having said that, they could do a much better job in presenting their struggle for independence.

Must see, features one of the two original Flags of Argentina. Hint: it looks different. Historic place since here the independence movement of all Latin America started. Not a coincidence the City now bears the name "Sucre" after Mariscal Sucre. Older names were La Plata (due to the silver from Potosí) and Chuquisaca. It is actually the Capital but seat of government is La Paz since some civil war. Only once a, erm, year? There is one session maybe it was the installation of a new president only don't remember.

Great place to come to learn a little history about Bolivia and Sucre. Casa de la Libertad is an incredibly important building, the place where Bolivia's declaration of independence was signed. The document is there, as well as other pieces from Bolivia's revolutionary period. Our guide was very knowledgeable and spoke great English.
