I have been on ships in this yard three times. They do consistently poor work with scant attention to detail. Some shops do ok. After a paint job here we went out for a one-day sea trial. When we returned, a 20' by 10' section of paint had fallen off the bow. They start jobs late and then are unable to complete them. One time we had the workers stealing large quantities of food.

Due to the many failed time lines, and their mechanical and technical capabilities for repairs, I would not recommend ASRY unless you have the time for re-work and a solid Quality Assurance Program, with personal oversight of work orders.

ASRY’s variety of facilities, from graving dock to floating dock, to slipways, to 4km of alongside berth space, means maximum flexibility in accommodating ship schedules.

Bahrain’s trade policies mean that importing and exporting parts and labour is quicker and more efficient than regional yards, meaning faster turnaround for all repair projects.
