Expensive, but it dies not worth it.Nothing to do in the area. The people are rude.No extras.I will not repeat.
Overated place, poor quality of food, poor internet access, small bathroom and bathtub.
I planned to stay for the night, but given the lack of hospitality of the host, and the fact that she yelled at me like a savage, i reconsidered. Ranchev Residence? No, thank you!
This hotel is overpriced and the star rating doesn't correspond to the quality expected.
We stayed in room 208. There was no WiFi connection in the room, nor there was any cell phone reception, which drained the battery of my phone. The TV set was way too old and without any USB ports. I couldn't charge it.
The bathroom looked cheap and poorly designed. No shower cabin. Water splashed everywhere. The shampoo and soap were probably the cheapest on the planet, unsented and dull. Only ONE roll of the cheapest toilet paper on Earth.
No glasses to drink from.
Empty, unstocked and unplugged mini bar fridge.
Too much noise from the garden.
THERE ARE NO SIGNS to help you find this hotel. NONE !!! Our navigation misled us, so we had to ask the locals.
We found ourselves at the rear entrance. A typical local Bulgarian, frowned and unfriendly, with a golden necklace and a golden watch showed up and locked the gate infront of us. Bad impression!!!
The front entrance was around the complex. No signs of any sort. These people just didn't care.
The overall appearance of the room was super cheap, with cracks in the walls, uncomfortable, cheap hard mattress, old AC, ugly curtains and cheap early-nintees finishes.
The staff is very helpful and polite.
Absolutely NOT worth it !
Staff are great. Helpful and polite. Really nice hotel.
Was there for a wedding. This is a popular venue for weddings. The place is a solid 3 stars. The rooms have all the necessities but nothing fancy at all, they do have ACs though. The food in the restaurant is also mid-range. There is a nice inner yard with a garden and a pool.
However, the place is poorly suited for bad weather. We had rain the entire time. The outer areas are slippery tiles. The wedding took place under some canvas awnings, which were not at all suited for the rain and there was water dripping everywhere.
Good place for reunions ,weekend getaway or corporate functions. It will be better in the summer when the pool is open. Very helpful stuff. Rooms are good . Location is excellent
Beautiful place. Constantly out of toilet paper.
On the plus side, the hotel is very clean and tidy. We booked it for a Christmas Eve programme and we were given a large room with plenty of light and extra duvets. This is where unfortunately the positives end.
The room was cold as the heater is situated next to the door and is controlled centrally. The sauna and steam room are tiny and get turned at mysterious times rather than be left on. As the hotel was fully booked it was unpleasant to have to queue in a cold room to get in the sauna.
For the Christmas Eve dinner they'd booked a DJ but the music was so loud we could' hear eachother, which didn't make for a nice experience. We complained 3 times (others did too) to no effect. Breakfast choice is small and you get free coffee but no tea ?!?
I could go on - it's probably a nice place during summer due to the open pool but it's pretty dire in winter.
Perfect place for weddings. Awesome garden and pool :+)
Excellent service, great food and atmosphere.
Highly recommended for group events.
I spent two highly unpleasant days and nights at Rachev Residence.
It all began on check-in, as it turned out that they have given our room to someone else, although it has been reserved weeks ago. It took some time and argument to clean matters up, and the word 'sorry' from the receptionist was never heard.
My greatest complaint concerns the service provided by the hotel. As far as I can see, this results mainly from poor management. There is no respect for privacy. I had the unpleasant experience of having somebody charge in my room, unlocking it with an universal key, while I was still gathering my stuff. This was before noon, which is the checkout time. Not even a knock or ringing the bell, and, again, not a hint of apology afterwards. I was offered a blunt explanation that this was a routine check whether I have not stolen something for which I have not paid from the mini-bar. I may add that the mini-bar held only a couple of the lowest-quality mineral water and one can of beer, so I don't think I could steal anything, even if I wanted to.
The rooms are generally kept clean, so no major complaints here, although towels are changed only about once in three days. The cooking in the restaurant is quite good, however. Unfortunately, the policy of saving energy by turning off everything while you are not in the room (described by another unsatisfied client) still holds, which means that you can't leave your air conditioning on when you are away. As a result, the rooms are stuffy and may become very hot in the summer. The pool and the fountain are rarely cleaned, and this is known problem, judging by the odour of chlorine. The lawn is unkempt and the alleys are overgrown and teeming with biting insects.
All in all, I was greatly disappointed by my stay in Rachev residence, and I don't think that I will be visiting ever again.Again, I must stress out that the general personnel of the hotel and the adjoined restaurant looked to me like they were doing their jobs the best they can, but were deliberately taught to act impolite and even rude by their management. This is, I think, a sure-fire way of ruining a good investment.
