We reserved 2 rooms for 5 people. One king studio w sofabed, and one duplex Quad room, which was upgraded for free to the economy maisonette (not clear what the difference is).
King studio is a very large room with a kitchen and small dining table. It is very nice.
The maisonette, is a two floor apartment. This turned out to be rather inconvenient. It is not easy to climb the steep stairs to the living room all the time. The living room, is actually an attic, so it is difficult to stand up except the central area. The fact that there are 2 bathrooms (only one shower, none in the upper floor) is a plus (but you have to be prepared and carry double the equipment (eg. tooth paste), unless you want to climb up and down all day).
All the furnishings in the rooms are in good shape and modern. Rooms are clean. Rooms are quiet.
The hotel has a heated pool and wet and dry spa. Both a big plus.
We received a pitcher of warm wine when we arrived. One can purchase the ski pass and ski school at the hotel, which is convenient. We rented the ski equipment at the hotel, which is convenient.
Shuttle to/from the gondola runs continuously (some hotels offer only every 30 minutes - here you should not wait more than 10 minutes).
Hotel is about 7-10 minutes walk from town center (not practical for the ski gondola, but OK to walk in the evening to town).
The big advantage of this hotel is Katarina the owner. She really makes an effort to give you the best service possible. She answers all the questions, and tries to help you make the right decisions on all choices.
No unhappy surprises.
Breakfast is good, but not superb. We had one dinner, which was OK. Very filling. Dinner entitles you to a lunch box for the next day. A simple sandwich for the next day + a drink and a snack. Lunch is so-so. Dinner in town is a better option, but less convenient. There is also a nice bar at the hotel with very nice atmosphere.
All in all an excellent choice for a hotel in Bansko.response / report this review -
