My favourite place to eat in my town! "Mix salad" and "Pork ribs" are always on my top list but actually i find every meal there amazing. Delicious food and great atmosphere - feels like home :)

Amazing atmosphere and kind service. We tried the pork ribs, the veal cheeks and the best Serbian rakia. Surely you’ll have a great time and taste the best homemade style meals.

Yes. Yes. Yes. Tipped off to Pavaj by Vino culture we were incredibly surprised by the quality. The Balkan Trout was excellent. Tender and sweet. But the star was the naked eggplant. I am dreaming of this dish right now. The eggplant is baked to bring out the natural sweetness and topped/filled with tomato paste, lentils, and feta. Baked eggplant like this is common in all Makedonian cooking but Pavaj does it the best. Just GREAT. Service and price were both well suited to the quality of the meal. Completely awesome experience.

We came to visit this place for lunch full of promise of 5 star rating. The place looks really nice and the menu sounded tasty. We ordered 3 salads and one hot meal. Salads arrived very quickly but the hot meal took forever. We had to remind the waitress that we were still waiting for 3 drinks after 20min. No one informed us that the meat balls would take a lot longer so we just kept waiting. Half an hour later one of the family member had to make a decision to cancel that order as everyone else had finished their meals.

The owner, as I assumed, quickly came to see us, but the situation escalated very quickly as he started insulting his customers. Calling us poor, asking to leave there and then, and saying that he doesn't want our money.

I can appreciate Bulgarian culture of sending food at random and I have no problem with that. The salad I had was tasty and raspberry lemonade interesting. However, the way that we were treated in front of everyone else was unnecessary. He could have taken comments from one dissatisfied customer on the chin like a professional! I can only suggest that the owner gets help and treatment for anger management.

    Very disappointing. 🤧

Excellent local food, very fresh, and a really friendly, lovely staff. Everyone made us feel right at home. While the food is simple, it was delicious and had bold flavors. Wine was great, too. The lyutenitsa was really good with the dried salami, and the salad was dressed perfectly. My wife had fried cheese with strawberry jam, which was quite good also.

It's always hard to find a table there, but the stuff is willing to help. They have a short menu, but everything is tasty. Is a nice place to dine with friends. I highly recommend the ribs.

Turned up at lunchtime. Got told they could only give us half an hour to eat. Against my better judgement accepted this. Got stuck on a tiny table shoved up against the refrigerator. Food pedestrian. Service Spartan. Was recommended this place, don't understand what the fuss was about. Many many better places to eat in Plovdiv than this. Prefer good food and service than having the cachet of being seen somewhere.

We tried to have lunch, but it was full so we booked for dinner. Glad we booked since it was full that evening as well and we enjoyed our meal. Followed the servers suggestions and ordered the pickled pork ribs and veal cheeks. Both were delicious.

The restaurant is placed in very artistic area called The trap. It's stylish and cozy. We tried chicken liver and horse sausage both with specific sauce. The bread was tasty also. The place is really artistic in general. It's popular place for locals and tourists so a reservation is a must.
